Teenager and cannabis use

Just picking up on the A&E bit ..
As someone else mentioned - are you sure the issue is just cannabis ??
No body ever ended up in A&E from smoking cannabis - ever
And as also mentioned above - his behaviour is certainly not that of a usual cannabis smoker
I know a lot of them, and the last thing someone stoned would do would be to pick a fight
Too busy looking for the biscuit tin
Someone close to me also had to attend hospital as a result of cannabis. Her heart stopped several times and she suffered frightening flash backs for years.0 -

That simply didnt happen - There is no chemical mechanism for it to stop your heart or give flashbacks , perhaps it was one of the "legal high" chemical cannabanoids
The only lethal dose of cannabis, is a 1 tonne block dropped on ones head0 -
All the information ?? are you for real ?
Your first link has nothing to do with cannabis, but rather the "legal" high cannabanoids
And all that other rubbish is scaremongering crap in newspapers
No one ever developed psychosis from smoking cannabis.
It can however bring on psychotic episodes in someone who is already mentaly unwell
And that wouldnt be the cannabis putting them in A&E, but their underlying condition
I'm not anti cannabis and I know that smokers don't get into fights in the way that drunks do but you're daft if you don't believe in cannabis induced psychosis, even if you don't have personal experience of it as many of us do.0 -

I don't think that's true -- I've heard a few cases over the decades of people suffering panic attacks and ending up in A&E. Very rare, and they're just put under observation and discharged.
But, yes -- my immediate suspicion was that the OP's son might have been smoking a cannabis analogue, like Spice or K2. These were made illegal a few years back, but are much, much more dangerous than real cannabis.0 -

My son's friend had no mental health issues before going on a spree with cannabis. The medical professionals diagnosed cannabis induced psychosis, he hasn't indulged since and has no more psychotic episodes in over 4 years.0 -

Did you read that article ?
And I quote
"At our institution, the rate of ED visits possibly related to cannabis use...."
POSSIBLY
Scare mongering rubbish from the anti-cannabis brigade
Millions of people smoke it every day, how come our hospitals aren't bursting at the seams ?
I bet a grand total of zero people are sitting in hospital right now due to the affects of smoking cannabis
Because it is harmless (providing you are mentally sound)0 -

Ok - I retract my statement, and change it to :-
A miniscule number of people, over tens of years, out of the millions and millions that will have smoked it in that time, may end up in A&E if they smoke too much and panic at how stoned they are
As for that spice stuff, that is the devil incarnate - and is brain damage waiting to happen0 -
From the article :
"Some users may experience psychotic symptoms with hallucinations and delusions lasting a few hours, which can be very unpleasant. Even though these unpleasant effects do not last long,"
Quick, call an ambulance0
