Some flights will stay at the north terminal for the summer. They should confirm this with you to avoid confusion.

I rang the freefone no at around mid-day.

Left it ringing on speakerphone for about 3 (?) minutes, then a very helpful lady answered and sorted out all my queries about names etc on tickets.

She also took our phone number for the records ' in case there was a problem'

I find the car parking facilities at the South terminal to be far quicker, so park there even when I'm flying from the North terminal!

Do we assume that we would be travelling from the south terminal at gatwick as if this is the case I need to change the car parking arrangements
There's always the free shuttle train between both terminals,so doesn't really make much difference.

The biggest gripe I have is the loss of online check-in. It was a real benefit choosing where you wanted to sit. Now I understand it's a scrum to grab a seat.

I've never flown Easyjet before and doubt I will be again after my upcoming flight.

Agreed, choosing your seats is the best thing about BA over Easy. But Easy do have online check-in, you just can't choose your seats. You can still check in and not have to do so at the airport.

I have to say my experience having been on many Easy flights is that they're not at all bad (compared with Ryanair for example).

It's not usually a 'scrum' to grab a seat - they allocate people a boarding group (A, B or C) on check in (and you can pay about £5-7 to have 'speedy boarding', which means you go first, plus people with small children also go on first). It's far more orderly than you might fear. Depends on the airport to some extent.

And yes, you have to pay for your meal on board if you want one but it's not too extortionate - no worse than the departure lounge, for example.

Though I believe you can only check in on-line if you are taking hand luggage only, if you have suitcases, I believe you have to check in at the terminal.

When you get your email from Easyjet it will tell you that due to a computer problem you will ALWAYS get a cancellation message from BA - this is normal.

Well I did not receive any email from BA regarding the cancellation of our flights.

The only email I received, was from BA, when I actually asked for a refund from BA, as I do not want to fly Easyjet at the price I had paid.

Cancelled our holiday in Crete, and booked down in Cornwall & Dorset and halved the cost of the holiday!!! Though we will not be guaranteed good weather, our carbon footprint will be significantly reduced.

Will look at the Easyjet flights for the half term holiday in 2009 and hopefully pay a reasonable price for the service they provide!!
  • I notice that now, after the GB Airways takeover has been officially completed, Easjyjet has reduced the prices on our Gatwick to Mykonos flight quite dramatically. It would have been nice to know before I accepted the change of operators.

Also "speedy boarding" not bookable for this flight (no reason given) - perhaps they will give priority to GB passengers or those who booked earliest.
