GB Airways taken over by Easyjet

I make that 2 bags - one person CANNOT take 2 bags through UK security checksI lose 3kg per pax luggage allowance
ba allows a laptop computer in its own bag and one piece of hand luggage
And as I said why do you think your current booking won't be honoured? Why do you think you have to have a new booking?0 -
at least the flight does its just the rest of the hassles to deal with i'm certainly not looking forward to my 13yr old having a major tantrum screaming in the queue at check in!!!!! or the run to get a seat on the plane!!!!
If you ring easyJet prior to flying and communicate your special needs regarding the children, and also at check-in then you will be given priority boarding, meaning you can get on the aircraft before the rest of the passengers.0 -
Well if any of the terms & conditions change on the flight, I would imagine that you can cancel the flight.
I am flying to Heraklion in August next year, not sure if Esyjet will still fly there. Though if they do, will the prices go lower, as the price I am paying is good for the flight, but is still expensive as compared to standard Easyjet prices & flights.0 -
Looks like BA are still selling the BA flights operated by GB Airways from 31st March 2008 and may do so until the deal with easyJet has actually been signed and sealed.
There is likely to be a period of uncertainty, so perhaps best not to book the flights from 31st March until the deal has gone through.Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0 -
the plan so far involves operation of GB's original schedule throughout next summer. That will most probably be operated by GB staff too and will depart from the North Terminal. The aircraft will still be equipped with drop down screens but I'd guarantee they will no longer be used.
The 'in terminal' and boarding experience will change. Best advice would be to check the terms on the Easyjet website as they have changed recently for children. With regards to baggage, they may offer to honour the original allowance but I don't think anybody in either company knows the answer to that yet.Timmay!0 -

The BA website states that you will be able to cancel any flights after 31st March with a full refund. It says more information will be provided, I guess after its a "done deal".
With regards to flight prices its anyones guess. The 4 hour + market is pretty much uncharted territory for easyJet (besides the Athens flights). Obviously being a longer flight it will have to cost more than standard easyJet fares on 2 hour flights, fuel alone dictates that. However the prices may still drop fitting easyjets business model, That said Heraklion is an airport with little competition besides the charter flights, which are usually expensive to book as flight only's. So its anyones guess...0 -

I must admit last month we had no problems with 2 bags!!!
yes the booking we still stand ie cancelled with ba and rebooked with easyjet so we still have our flights but its the T&c will change. the email i had this morning from the ba executive club made mention of the 'full service' until the end of march and the easyjet way of working from april0 -
If I were holding tickets I would wait as long as possible before making a decision on a refund to see what easyjet's prices are for the same flight, I'm sure these will be cheaper so you could end up with the same flight by cancelling and rebooking and then have extra money in your pocket!:beer:0

You were just luck I would think. The rules are still very clear. If you look on the BA website and scroll down to their franchise partners you will find GB Airways where it says you can take one piece of hand baggage (no weight limit but usual size retsrictions apply) and a laptop or briefcase.
However, if you then click the link relating to the current restrictions on flights originating in the UK you will see that due to the security requirements only one piece of hand baggage is permitted, although now you can also carry a musical instrument in addition as long as it will pass through the xray machine!!
If you carry more than one piece you may well find that you will not get through security. Indeed, I have seen people turned back for this very reason.0
