That reads as a pretty positive post, CCL. I had a better night's sleep too, & it does make a difference to positivity levels, doesn't it? A big life change for you, but it will come together. You just need to hang in there!

  • Have you tried writing out a list of the things that's on your mind? I often find that when I do that it free's the space in my mind and I can stop fretting. Plus it keeps me accountable and there's nothing better than ticking things off a list.

    Glad you're feeling more you.

Wonder if the tiny cat got shut in someone's greenhouse or shed, or a one way catflap. Poor little thing.

The fireworks have started around here already, I don't have any cats at the minute, my road is a bit too busy for extending the family in that direction, but every time I hear one I still look for the cats to see they are ok.

I am one of those miserable people who think fireworks should be licensed and a huge, special, massive event, rather than a carp 10 minutes in a bucket in a different back garden every night for 3 weeks.

I also agree re the fireworks - you'd think it would be done even if it was purely for safety reasons!

Glad your littlest cat got home safely ccl - it's awful when you don't know where one of your pets are, or even if they're safe.
Its good news that you're feeling a little bit better about things, and really positive to be making lists of what you CAN do. ((hugs))
    I Believe.....
That it isn't always enough, to be forgiven by others.
Sometimes, you have to learn to forgive yourself.

Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery
Today is a gift. That's why it is called the present.

happiness isn't achieved by getting extra things,
but by getting rid of the things that make you unhappy
  • I totally agree about the fireworks as well. I HATE them  and there is such a lack of understanding of how blimming dangerous they are. Plus all the fools who just want to cause problems with them.
Teeny cat is still a bit nervous but at least is eating again. She eats constantly so that is reassuring to see.
Managed another reasonable night of sleep last night - although I do have a few worries on my mind. Some I need to just park because there's nothing I can do about them, but others I need to write down (as you suggest Speky) and make a plan of action. The main ones today are:
    1. DS sleeping at his dad's tonight. I am anxious about being away from the kids at the moment anyway but am also worried about ex's current state of mind. My plan for sorting this is to make sure he has his phone with him at all times so I can contact him later tonight and during the day tomorrow.
    2. Finances. I haven't done anything with my budget since I had my hissy fit with YNAB when they kept taking a load of money out of my account. I need to stop hiding from this just because it's bad news and make a plan to tackle it all head on. Think for now I'm going to go back to a pen and paper budget.
    3. Christmas. I actually think this is almost done - only the kids are getting bought presents this year. Everyone else is getting home made. Just need to link my spends back into my finances.
    4. Anxiety. I am trying with this - back on the medication and avidly using the Headspace app.
Yesterday was a nice day. Took the boys swimming, then me, bestie and the kids had a home made afternoon tea at bestie's house. Felt like a massive treat. :D Then while the boys played on Fortnite, us girls watched a box set which was also fab.
I'm popping out again with bestie this morning (just me and her) for a few bits of stocking fillers for the kids. Best get on. I will check in later...
  • Enjoy your day out today and good on you for getting your list all sorted.
  • Sometimes you can't beat a pen and paper budget! I've bought an A5 notebook and use a page a week to plan and then a spending tracker app to make sure they tally.

    Have a good day!

I am so glad you had a good day.

I have to say I love fireworks, just not for the general public.
I am still unsure who though tiny sparkers for kids was a good idea.

Maybe I am just a snowflake.
A kind of ninja throwing snowflake with jagged edges and claws. rah!

Also a big fan of paper and pen budgetting.

Have a lovely weekend and enjoy the rest of your half term.
