Hello
Merry Christmas - I hope that you've had a good Christmas, whatever you've been up to. I have had a good break from almost everything online over the past couple of days, and just enjoyed spending time with family. I never got to feeling properly festive but it has been nice nonetheless. Dinner on Christmas Eve was nice - we all got together at my mam's house and exchanged presents before we went out. I got lots of books and lots of gin related gifts (honestly I still have over half a bottle of gin left from last year - it's amazing how much longer alcohol lasts in the house since it's been just me and the kids). The meal was ok - just ok - but the company made the evening - especially when the cream was sour on the desserts. I was too full to be bothered by then but it was a bit disappointing.
DS was awake at 6am on the dot. I had not slept well (especially getting up at 3am for present putting out) so we were down and opening presents early. Thankfully the kids were more than happy with what they had gotten - they're such good kids bless them. I spent most of the morning going between making dinner and assembling flat pack furniture (desk and gaming chair for ds). I was absolutely exhausted so napped after lunch before heading off to my sister's house for a couple of hours for drinks and games (cards against humanity). Was in bed and sleeping by about 11pm so when I got up this morning at 7 I thought that was it but I have since napped againThe kids are fending for themselves with leftovers and chocolate, and I am relaxing and either crocheting or reading one of my many new books. No plans to go anywhere or do anything - just rest because it's really what I feel like I need.

Hello
I've well and truly gotten into uber lazy mode over the past couple of days - it's been food, sofa and tv. Best not get too used to it though as I will be shocked when things go back to 90mph.
There's not lots to report, which is a good thing in my book because that means I'm not spending and there's not a lot of stress going on. I'm just sleeping too much, eating too much and watching far too much tv... not that I'm complaining, it just makes for a not-that-interesting read here.
I've been out this morning to catch up with bestie - it's been too long. But we're out again tonight - our Christmas night out which we try and treat ourselves to. Off to the drag show - which I just love...
Other than that, business as usual. Washing clothes, washing dishes, boxing and freezing leftovers. Easy. Not giving up

Well, I wouldn't worry about that, CCL, because it's pretty much what most other households are doing too. We certainly are!
My only remaining decision for today is which gin to open this evening!
Think of those peasants of centuries gone by. They worked their medieval sock-equivalents off for precious little reward up to & including 24th Dec, but from Christmas Day, they had 12 days of midwinter festivities to alleviate the gloom of the other 353. Sounds about right to me!
Have almost knitted a whole pair of socks since Christmas Eve!

Rest and recuperation, not being lazy.
Normal service can be resumed on Monday, that gives you a week to get back into it all. Until then there is a rail replacement bus service timetable.
It is great you are feeling more able to deal with everything. It is a sign. So just de-stress and decompress. Enjoy your night out.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

Well it is now Monday and I'm still being a bit of a lazy so and so. It's strange isn't it, when the less you do, the less you feel like doing? I'm still avidly watching RuPaul box sets on tv and crocheting like mad - desperately trying to finish a blanket before I catch up with one of my friends on Wednesday. I have 10 rounds to go, which doesn't sound much but is actually loads because there's about 800 stitches in a round. I'm not hopeful but I will keep trying.
I did venture out of the house today - I needed to pay a cheque into the bank. Was quite proud of myself for not spending any money while I was out, other than to buy some more breaded chicken for the kids and pay for parking. Good - because it's a billion years until next payday. DD came with me as she hadn't been out for a few days either - she bought foundation and some crisps reduced to 5p. We were only out for a couple of hours but it was nice to get some fresh air, daylight and a bit of exercise. Bought the kids a S*bw@y sandwich each, using my points so it didn't cost me anything. Me? I'm back on the diet wagon for the gazillionth time hoping that this one will be different.
DS has his friend over today - which is good news for me and him. He's entertained and I don't have to hear a load of shouting, screaming and swearing when he's losing at his game online - especially when I'm grumpy from lack of food and recovering from Christmas over indulgence. DD has gone out with her friend (more shopping I think but she is wise with her cash so I'm not worried). I have done a little teeny bit of schoolwork - just to start dipping my toe in, but I'm going to eat and get back to watching RuPaul. And making the most of being at home, with heating, hot water, family, cats and tv.Not giving up

I'm impressed at the little teeny bit of schoolwork. I've glanced at the laptop and that's as far as I've gotpaydbx2025 #26 £890/£5000 . Mortgage start £148k June 23 - now £138k.
