Awww, CCL. Your cousin died at such a young age. My dear friend whom I lost a couple of years ago also died of sepsis. I expect she thought she had flu or something similar, but it was much more serious than that. I still think of her every day. She was very supportive & extremely funny. And she was usually very fit & well, so it just shows that these infections can brew in perfectly healthy people.
I am glad to hear that you are feeling less poorly yourself & also that reading my diary helped you feel a bit Christmassy!

Well I'm pleased to be almost there. I'm exhausted again. Mainly due to the cats though - running about, wanting to be out, wanting to be in, wanting fed, wanting cuddles. And it's so dark in the morning when I have to get up now - but only 2 more to do (in the short term). I think that after 2.45am I didn't get more than about 40 minutes at a time so I am worn out. Stick that on top of the kids being totally hyper and more than ready for their Christmas hols then it's a hard work day. But it is all quite good fun really - we're on the wind down now, and there are very few hours of work to get through.
Today was wellbeing day - we had to hunt our school secret Santa parcels down, and then we had our department dinner and secret Santa. I did so well - I got a wine glass and cocktail recipe book, and a cat butt mindful colouring book :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:. I did miss going on the university trip but apparently the kids were really well behaved and an absolute credit to the school. And everything went well so I'm pleased with it all.
It was almost 7pm when I got home though - so antibiotics and painkillers taken and now relaxing before bed. Suspect I won't make it as far as the apprentice final. Not giving up

Crikey - I'm not sure how I'm still going but somehow I am. I am 'dead on my feet' today. My back is sore (not much kidney pain - more pain from being on my feet for most of yesterday) and I feel really tired - kind of maybe like I didn't wake up at all this morning and am still in some sort of little dream. But I am definitely at work... I finish at 12 today and have 2 frees this morning so I've been very lucky - I'm literally only here to spend an hour with my form class after break. After that I'm going to go home for a couple of hours to see dd and then head back to pick ds up as he's not finished until half three (and as it's his last primary Christmas I want him to make the most of it).
Yesterday was a bit of a write off - lessons were cancelled for a fitness and wellbeing day. I was in charge of the 'mindful colouring in'. I really hope that it helped the kids a bit but I was incredibly stressed. Not enough chairs, not enough pencils or pencil sharpeners. What was meant to be relaxing and easy for me was blimming hard work. I'd done over 12000 steps just at work yesterday so not quite the rest I had hoped for but I survived it.
Also survived coming home via Mr T for a couple of bits that just wouldn't wait for my online delivery on Sunday. It was a long day and last night was painkillers and sleep. I still feel quite rough this morning but just tired related I think. Roll on 4pm. I'll be home, in my pjs with something alcoholic in my hand to celebrate the last of the antibiotics. Not giving up

I had hoped to be sitting getting drunk by now but unfortunately am on taxi duty. As dd so rarely goes out, and as I got a lovely letter from her Head Teacher today about how well she's doing I suppose a quick pick up from her friend's house is no big problem. Everything else is done for the day - ds is running about all hyped up because he's finally finished school for the year. I am in my jammies (yes, I will be taxi-ing in my jammies whether she likes it or not) - we've had dinner and I've arranged to see bestie very briefly tomorrow for Christmas present exchanging. I miss my bestie - we've been so busy since the summer that we barely see each other any more. It's a real shame when these things happen, but you can't stop change I suppose. The kids are growing up and we're both working really hard so we don't have much time any more to fit everything in. We are going out between Christmas and NY so I'm really looking forward to that at least. It's just weird going from seeing each other weekly to catching up briefly once a month.
I've done a bit of present wrapping, but there's still some to do. Not my favourite job but I like it once it's done. I don't feel even a little bit festive this year - not sure why. Maybe it's because the kids are older now. Maybe because I've been ill, or because I'm not feeling great about myself. Who knows... I think once I've picked dd up then I'll watch Love Actually. That will no doubt help my festive feeling. Not giving up
