Do you have three cats or four?

:shhh: 7 :shhh: I know I am the epitome of crazy cat lady but I love every single one of them and wouldn't change any of them. They are all cats that nobody else wanted - but I love them completely and absolutely, and they make me very happy.

Anyway. I am still tired today, even after another pretty decent sleep. It is clearly just hibernation mode. Wednesday is my least favourite day of the week because I'm not teaching in my own classroom, then I'm on break duty, then I have a meeting after school until 5pm. It ends up being a long and difficult day. On the plus side though I have some braising steak on the go in the slow cooker which should be lovely for dinner if I have remembered to switch it on before I left the house this morning.:rotfl: I shouldn't laugh, it wouldn't be unheard of.

  • Hi everyone
Quick post from my phone to say I’ll be on properly tomorrow. Norovirus has hit my school and I don’t know if I’m sick or just knackered - it’s been another long week for sure. I’m on my way to lie down now, but hopefully back to normal tomorrow...

    Nooooooooo!!
    Not the evil Noro.
I absolutely dread getting that horrible bug. I am like a walking handgel dispenser at this time of year.
I am really hoping you haven't been struck by that. If you find that you have, try to stay hydrated, rest & tell yourself that vile as it is, it mostly only lasts a couple of days.

  • Morning :coffee:
Thanks for well wishes. Touch wood, it's not norovirus as everthing is definitely staying within my body :rotfl: I'm starting to suspect it's something hormonal actually, as it's just general rubbish feeling. I was in bed and asleep before 9 last night and woke up about half past five this morning so I've certainly rested plenty but I still feel sleepy and my legs are aching. I have 3 classes on a Friday and yesterday I had 13 in 1 class, 11 in the next and 10 in the 3rd. Quite a few schools close to me have been closed for deep cleaning, but not ours (so far). I felt sickly most of yesterday and I still have no appetite at all this morning, but other than just wanting to rest I don't feel bad. And if it's rest I want then it's rest that I shall have. I have my fluffy sofa blanket and nowhere to be - so I will try to just relax (although that includes the household jobs I need to do like washing) if I possibly can - I'm not that good at it. So if I do rest I suppose I must need it.
One thing I must do at some point this weekend is comb back through my budget. I need to find £84 for something, which is going to be quite a challenge but it is important that I find it. It's legal related but won't wait unfortunately. Might have to ask my mam to help short term.
And Christmas is coming and my crochet pile is massive  Other than that I have leftovers for meals and no plans for spends - I just need to find some money somewhere.
  • Morning :coffee::wave:
Yesterday, for once in my life, went exactly as planned. I was pleased that I didn't have plans as it just did not stop raining at all - one of those days where it never got light. I stayed in my jammies till lunchtime then swapped them with joggers and a t-shirt :rotfl:
I did loads of crochet and loads of washing (including bedding and blankets to try and get on top of this flea issue), but not much of anything else. I managed to find £24 towards my £84 legal bill which is a good start for one day but I really need to sit down properly with pen and paper and look at my budget properly. It's been a while since I did a good, thorough look and I would imagine things will have sneaked in that I should be keeping a closer eye on. Unfortunately I got carried away with the crochet yesterday and was reluctant to do anything else at all.
Spent a bit of time online looking through early Black Friday offers to see if anything I was still looking for was on offer - it wasn't and I'm really pleased I didn't end up spending for the sake of it. :D Other than that I watched a lot of telly, and did a lot of thinking about why I hate cooking so much (it's bizarre what pops into your head sometimes isn't it?). I'm actually not that bad at it, but I genuinely can't be bothered when everything I do make gets looked at by the kids as though I've gotten it out of a Whiskas pouch. I made slow cooked beef and roast potatoes yesterday, and the kids would only eat the potatoes. Today I think I'm going to make a corned beef pie. Everyone in the north east loves a corned beef pie - except my kids. What is wrong with them? Seriously... Good news is that I can freeze that so make myself a couple of weeks worth of food to use up the potatoes I need to. Might also mash some carrots in there as I'm the only one that'll eat it and I have carrots needing used.
Before all that though - I have tutoring this morning, and then I'm going to see my mam this afternoon. She finally retired on Thursday (poor WASPI woman) and I want to see how she's doing. I was worried about her last time I saw her because she seemed very low, but since then she's retired and she's started medication to hopefully help with the tremor she has developed over the past few years. I hope it's doing something to help as it breaks my heart seeing my mam unable to do everyday things.
The question is though, will I finally tackle my budget or just sit and do more crochet?
  • I think that about pasties...my MIL would turn in her grave if she knew 2 of her grandchildren don't like pasties :).

Glad you had chance to rest yesterday....this term is a long one!
