Crazy Cat Lady Chapter 3 - A New Beginning

Does dd have a filling and nutritious breakfast, I don't mean a bowl or cereal or a couple of slices of toast?
If she is having a good breakfast and drinks plenty during the day, especially water, this should be ok. Would she allow her self a snack of a piece or two of fruit?
You need to talk to dd about the nutrition her body needs to get and stay healthy.
Do you know what she eats when? Does she have a snack when she gets in from school?
Can you and dd put together a list of suitable breakfasts, snacks, dinners and then she can make a plan of what she is going to eat each day?
I realise my suggestions require time and energy from you, which I appreciate is in very short supply.
If dd was menstruating, obviously that could be a contributing factor.Fashion on a ration 2025 0/66 coupons spent

Hugs. You don't know what outside influences are at play here. Strange for it to all be happening now though.
Having said that, if it were my boys, I would suspect a test they had not revised for. DS2 refuses to take anything but a packet of crisps or a nakd bar for lunch, but then eats like a horse when he gets home (usually the sandwiches he refuses to take for his lunch are acceptable when inside the house, but not out of the house).
I know how worrying it is though.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

I think that's good advice from BaileysBabe. A couple of pieces of fruit or just a banana & a yoghurt are probably ok at lunchtime as long as your daughter has had a good nutritious breakfast....eggs & toast, baked beans on toast, porridge, wholegrain toast with peanut butter, muesli with fruit, nuts & yoghurt, etc. Unfortunately, despite the marketing, there's not a lot of sustaining nutrients in commercial cereals.... esp the ones that tend to be cynically designed to appeal to children & teens.
Low blood sugar can definitely cause faintness. I always found my blood sugar to be more erratic around time of the month too, so always made sure I had some oatcakes or a nut bar in my bag. Eating nothing between breakfast & dinner is far from ideal but I would think more manageable on a decent sized, nutritious & sustaining breakfast. Perhaps you could talk about it & work out a compromise?
Sorry to hear your son is also feeling out of sorts.

Is time a factor? At our local secondary they only have 30 mins for lunch, so eating can be off putting if they are queuing for school dinners for most of that time...

I actually want to crawl under a rock and die here, but I will admit it on here. DD won't have breakfast either.
:o:o I leave the house at half seven in the morning, and she goes at 8 but says she can't eat first thing in the morning. I get it, I can't eat first thing either but I can normally eat by the time I get to work. We did have a good long chat about it last night, but she still flat out refuses to eat at school. She says it is awkward, there is nowhere for her to go, and people look at her and judge her. We've negotiated, but the best I can get from her is that she has agreed to take cereal bars or breakfast biscuits to eat on the way to school. I know first hand what kids in school can be like, but I really thought that she was above the peer pressure. Clearly not. I've read her all your replies on here, and she is digging her heels in. I got my head of department to talk to her on the phone - he really knows his stuff with medicine and health and he talked to her about how much her brain is growing at the moment and how it needs decent nutrition. Who knows - a cereal bar is a step forward but there is room for more. She does eat as soon as she gets home - it's like you said f0xh0les, stuff in the house is totally acceptable but not at school.
Another day closer to the weekend!

I do honestly think schools aren't nice places. That the subcultures teachers and parents can't see are bloody awful.
We have a 40 minute lunch break and cannot get all the kids through the canteen most days. I am always hungry (!) and can't drink much cos access to the toilets is limited and for the students it is even worse. I have kids in my room every day eating their lunch cos there isn't room or peace enough to eat in the canteen. There are a lot of girls who don't eat all day. It is madness. But like so any aspects of modern life we are all in such a rush constantly eating and going to the loo is an inconvenience.
