I had to suffer through a yr 6 leavers assembly last night. Nearly lost the will to live. So many tears for the poor kids, who will never see each other again .... apart from today.... and every time they go into town, and 90% are going to the same high school anyway....... bizarre.

I feel as though I've already celebrated once but I have now completed the sneaky extra papers the exam folk dumped on me (and checked for more) and I am now officially done. All marking, all report writing, all paper reviews - done! :j:beer: I may be having a sneaky bottle of cider to celebrate.
Parents Evening was ok last night - just long and exhausting, and unfortunately the naughty kid in my form clearly didn't listen to a work me or his mother said because he was in trouble again today. I was home not long after 7 but very tired indeed. DD had fed herself and ds had pizza from the freezer. I had leftovers from previous cooked meal. You're right foxgloves - I don't think I'm very fussy with food, but my kids are unbelievable. They weren't when they were babies but they definitely are now. We're going all inclusive next week so hoping to encourage them to try new things while we're away. We shall see - it's a talk I try to keep having but it doesn't last for long with them. Anyway...
No - ex doesn't have a key for the place while we're away. He's not allowed near the place otherwise will be arrested, and all of neighbours know that if he shows up to call the police (it's called cocooning apparently). The only people that will be here while we're away are my cat sitting lady and my sister... just keeping an eye on the place for me. Plus one of my neighbours comes round to pick up post and open and close the curtains etc. It will be fine (she says confidently).
I'm more hopeful that we're going to be able to get away next weekend with minimum hassle. Went to Mr S after school tonight to pick up my holiday spends (pre ordered online), and also look for some t-shirts for ds. Found a pack of 4 reduced to £6 so I think I'm a bit of a winner there. Also one individual t-shirt reduced to £2.70 and a pair of swim shorts reduced to £3 - all for him. Also got myself a lovely pair of holiday trousers reduced from £18 to £4. Think we're good to go from a clothing point of view now. I actually think we have everything we need to take. I need a decent sun hat but I don't have one - will probably get one over there (apparently everything is quite cheap).
Between now and next Friday I have a list of a few little bits I need to get done - but I am probably going to relax tomorrow night. Mind I did that last week for prom and got up to another stack of marking. We shall see...
