Hey CCL. Lovely to see you back and you've definitely been a busy bee. Good on you for letting your hair down on a couple of occasions, you deserve it (although maybe no the hangover). You've been through this wringer before with too much marking, so just make sure you don't over do it!

    Hope your sis is ok.

Doesn't reaching a certain % of your marking trigger automatic payments?

    Hello
Very, very tired today - I couldn't get to sleep last night for some reason and was still wide awake by 1am... :( Consequently I really didn't feel like getting up for school this morning. However, I'm another day closer to the end of the year, and plan to be in bed by 1030 tonight at the latest, and hopefully asleep not long after.
I've been home an hour and finished writing reports for my marking team (the publishing of those is what triggers my pay apple) for the last papers - they've gone to my supervisor to be proof read, then it's just the pesky last 55 papers, which I'll get onto after I've caught up on here.
There isn't much else to report - there was a wiring fault in my loft light, which my handyman has sorted out and I can now see my lifetime supply of wool lurking around in there. I promised no more wool buying this year and its a good job because there's actually masses...
Also lovely cleaning lady has been and my house is sparkling and smells nice again.
No news on ex, or from my solicitor about court.
Just sitting here with dd relaxing and trying to stay awake until half ten. I'm going to catch up on here and then get on with tackling the marking of the last 55 papers.

You're quite right Apple - I have immense loft insulation - and I can see it all now because the light is working again!!! :j I'm pleased to report my handyman helper found a broken wire and repaired it all for me with minimum hassle. Now I just need to get up there and tidy out a bit, now that I can see what's going on.
Just 33 papers left now and the exam money has finally started arriving. It's just the first bit for now but should be a steady flow for the next few weeks to keep us happy over the holidays. I've ordered my foreign currency and am going into no further debt for my hols. Only a few days to go now and I'm really excited (nearly) because all my reports are done and published, plus a paper that I'd forgotten about but needed to review. So just these 33 papers between me and freedom for the summer (hopefully they won't put any more onto me).
Work is hard. Kids are tired, staff are tired, weather is stuffy - and it's Parents Evening tonight. I have no clue whose smart idea it was that we would have a Parents Evening this close to the end of the year but I'm making sure it doesn't happen again next year. I've spoken to the Head and other management about it. Poor ds is so exhausted he's been sleeping in the car on the way in to school then sleeping on the way home in the evening too - he's devastated that we're stuck here for 3 hours after school tonight.
Also heard back from my solicitor. Court hearing will happen without me. Hopefully all will run smoothly because I don't know how much longer I can go on, paying out every month and getting no further forward.
Oh, and I cooked last night for the first time in weeks. Enough for 3 of us and both kids refused it. This is exactly why I can't be bothered with cooking...
Right - best get on and pull myself round ready for Parents Evening then...

Blimey. If it’s anything like here in last week of term half the parents and their offspring will already be away.

Hope everything goes smoothly with court, CCL. I feel very wound up on your behalf that you are getting deeper into debt because of your ex-partner's absolute refusal to engage with what are the correct proceedings. I would have thought it would put him in a worse financial position actually, because by the time you get to a settlement, won't he end up owing you? What a crazy situation. Neither of you can move on properly without this financial settlement. The situation isn't going to go away just because he ignores it. I do hope the courts can come to some kind of resolution because this situation, as you say, simply can't go on.
Such a shame your home cooked meal was refused. When you have some leisure time with the kids, (not now with your end of term dash & all the marking, etc), could you not have a family meeting about why this isn't working, & see if they can think of a few solutions? Even a compromise would help - say a couple of nights a week when you can all eat the same meal (or the same within reason). Or could they agree on a just a little list of meals that they actually would both eat, as I get the impression that it's not you who is the fussy one. Would it help if they went to the supermarket with you & actively had a look at new things to try which they think they both might like? Not remotely any of my business, I know, but I know how precious your down-time is in the evenings.

Have a lovely holiday, you deserve it. I hope the ex hasn't a key to get in the house while you are away. Perhaps would be best to ask the neighbours to keep a look out and phone the police if necessary.
