I'm so glad your head is still above water after all that CCL! Well done fitting some social stuff in too. I hope your friend pays you for the papers you marked for her, 300 is nowhere near insignificant!!!!! You are on the home stretch now so make sure you've got something planned in to enjoy early on in the hols not just recovery.
Re ex big well done at everything you said to housing it's totally unacceptable they think they can just merrily wash their hands of him and put it back to you despite police involvement previously, get it all on paper and stick a rocket up your solicitor to get this dealt with. Might be worth having a statement from the police of their dealings and advice to support everything you've said if you can.
Look forward to seeing you on the other side

If the housing contact you again about him presenting there, tell them he is wanted by the police and there is a warrant out for his arrest. There must be for the hire car and absconding without paying for fuel. Let them harbour a criminal. Not your monkey.
Glad you have got so much done! Wow. Did not realise we in Le'Shire break a week before you. But then you will go back a week later than us.

I mentioned about the stolen car to the housing lady and all she said was 'Yes - we know about that.' I have nagged my solicitor but we are going at the pace of the courts now - next date is 26 July and we are away that day. I'm busy trying to find out if I have to be there or can just send my solicitor. I really don't want to postpone it if I can help it.

Forgot to say - he also requested my bestie on Facebook last week.

So glad that you told the council how it was.
Hopefully things will start moving soon.

Glad to have you posting again, and wow what a lot you've packed into the last few days. Keep on counting til school is done and then you can have a wonderful rest I hope. Fingers crossed about the court date, surely solicitor can advise if they can do it alone?

  • Wow CCL, that is some update. Anyone of those situations would leave most people a quivering wreck, yet you have it all and STILL find time to enjoy yourself a bit.

Roll on the end of term and your amazing holiday - ouch to the £8k of debt, I know you've hinted at debt before, but I think this is the first time you've mentioned a figure on here. Not fun!

Hopefully the judge will knock it off what ex hubby thought he would get.

    Keep swimming 10more get ups.

    Wish.

Gosh I am still tired today. Absolutely wiped - but not really surprised. I've gone full pelt then suddenly stopped. Unfortunately I have another 2 weeks to get through, another 55 papers to mark and some reports to write - but still no need to go back into overdrive.
I haven't gotten any work done at all today but it's been so lovely to have a day off and relax with the family. I got up this morning, caught up on here then did a couple of bits round the house including washing, washing dishes and putting the rubbish out. Plus decided to start tackling some of the 'annoying jobs' from the list. I dug out my big luggage bag ready for hols and sorted out some of my holiday clothes to go into it - as well as passport and adapters etc (determined not to buy and extras and holiday as frugally as possible). As we're heading off straight from school on the last day of term I need to make sure that I'm well prepared in between everything else I'm doing now.
Then took the kids to my mam's for a catch up and some lunch - and my sister was there too. It was nice, although my mam is a bit down at the moment - says she's feeling a bit miserable. Wants time off work but she's saving up as much extra time as she can as she's due to retire early next year and is hoping to save enough holiday to leave at Christmas. Even though all I ever chat about is work and whatever latest crisis is ongoing with my ex I think it does her good to see that both me and my sister are a lot happier than we were a year or two ago.
My sister came back to mine for a couple of hours - wanted to watch the end of Chernobyl. I never get tired of watching it, and I'm happier seeing her so much better off without her ex as well. :)
I had a go at another annoying job (replacing the strip light in my loft) - it's taken me since March to get round to buying a new bulb and starter but I got up there, and lo and behold - it didn't work. Didn't even try. Another £8.96 down the drain and I've had to contact my handy man to come and have a look. I have at least a 10 year supply of wool hiding up there and I can't actually see any of it. :rotfl: Hopefully he'll come and sort it tomorrow at some point.
I have my 'tin can cook' book here in front of me and am looking for some quick and easy inspiration that will suit all 3 of us. Doubt I'll actually find anything but maybe I'll be inspired - the can cupboard does seem to be overflowing at the moment. It's only worth having cans if you actually use them :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: I read on foxgloves diary earlier about curried mince, and it reminded me of a bakery that was near the school when I first started working there that sold curry pies. They were amazing and I was devastated when it closed down. Can't imagine how happy I would be if I could make curry pie of my own. However neither of my kids would actually eat that...
Suppose I should actually do an hour of exam marking again. I have deadlines of leaving the country coming up so whilst I can actually slow down I'd best not stop.

CCL - I thought of you stuck on that bloody train. You'd have had a bit of a walk to get up to mine from Grantham, but if you'd followed the railway tracks, you'd certainly have arrived in our town. Isn't it always the way with long journeys.... It's always the days where you are really tired & still have loads to do at home that things go t*ts up with travel, isn't it?
