    I got mine, too

I had been told by the switch team that the bank account to be switched had to have 2 D/Ds on it. I still used a dummy account with nothing on it , and it has worked

Anyone received rewards by doing a partial switch rather than a full switch closing the other account ?

Why would anyone want to keep an account open and risk not getting the rewards? The whole process seems wrought with pitfalls as it is. I ended up switching to Natwest as I was able to do this online whereas this offer seemed to require a branch visit.

Deadline is today and Barclays confirmed through online chat that you can still apply.

Unfortunately, I did apply today and couldn't pass the credit check. I've given up as I probably don't have enough time to visit the branch with ID etc and start the switch. Own fault really for leaving it this late.

Credit check or ID check? As if they wouldn't offer you the account then you couldn't switch anyway!

Applied online last weekend as a new customer. As I didn't think I could get to a branch within 5 days I abandoned the switch process, thinking I'd still be able to initiate the switch online during the week and visit the branch tomorrow (Saturday) with my ID.

Decided to go to a branch on my lunch hour today and was told I needed to make an appointment and as this would be after today's deadline it seems I won't get the £14 reward.

Tried ringing Barclays switch team number just before 5 as they should still be open until 6 but automated message said they were now closed.

Phoned the main Barclays number, they said they should be able to start the switch process over the phone and was put on hold whilst they transferred me to the switch team, 10 minutes of music and then the phone goes dead (so maybe they had finished early for the day).

As it stands, I've got a new account with blue rewards added but I've not been able to switch my existing Natwest account so won't get the £14.

I'm thinking of trying to apply for another 2nd account and initiate the switch as I can visit a branch next week providing I make an appointment first but not sure that will work as I don't know if you can have 2 Barclays accounts with Blue Rewards (presumably not).

All seems very complicated despite Barclays website saying it is simple. I could do a switch to the HSBC, their offer ends tomorrow but not sure if that will be any better.

    Any advice?

I'm in the middle of a switch to HSBC, but wouldn't advise it if you don't have a lot of patience. I've filled in about three forms in addition to the online one, but still can't acess my account online.

I opened a Barclay account middle of May 2018. I went to the local branch to show ID etc and was told everything was fine. I have 2 Direct debits set up, and a Pinsentry will be sent to me. Blue Rewards was activated.

Only one Direct debit has been taken in June despite me having letter saying both will be deducted 1st June. I still havent received a pinsentry device. I ordered one again a week ago and it still hasnt arrived. Now tried to order again and its saying I already ordered one. How long does it take for them to send me the blinking thing.

I was hoping to get the double up for the blue rewards offer but as only one direct debit has been taken I have lost out on £7.
Goodness knows when will I be getting my PINsentry device. I cant seem to do anything with the account till I receive this. I couldnt even send "secure message" as I need an activation code via the PINsentry thing.
Cant even send them an email via that barclay account website as it keeps asking me "what my comment relates to" but then doesnt let me click on the choices.:mad::mad:

If you have the Barclays debit card, you can use another bank card reader as if it was the PINsentry one.

The requirement is that the switch must start today (i.e. actually start, not just be initiated). As it's now too late to start a switch today (even if you opened a new account and requested one, it could only start next week conditional on you taking in ID by the requested start date), you can't qualify for double rewards.

Thanks for your reply. I should have started the process sooner but I thought a week before would be okay. I guess there is a subtle difference between starting and initiating.

I will just have to accept the £4 per month.
