You so are!
Welcome back Mum of 2!
Exceptionally busy week with a 4.30 am bedtime on Thursday/Friday night/morning, and now feeling just a tad knackered. House relatively straight but I'll have to spend time titivating it at some point for two arrivals on Monday, one of whom is a friend I haven't seen for 30 years. I know this because he has just organised a 30th Year Anniversary reunion that I couldn't go to because it was in Australia. *curses*
Kittens coming on a pace, and haven't hissed at Kelpie or bottle-brushed their tails in 48 hours. We have a kitten pen for them, kindly lent, delivered and set up by the Cat Protection League (excellent charity) and we've got them all eating at the same time with great enthusiasm. We should be okay to merge them by the end of next week I hope.Better is good enough.0 -
Pixie and Dixie, (now renamed) a day or two after they arrived, a bit out of focus.Better is good enough.0

Aww, what pretty kitties. I hope the "merging" goes well.If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0

Cat naming is NOT easy...my Poppy was Kiki at first, until I decided Poppy rolled off the tongue more easily. By the time we actually got her I had renamed her!

Thank you Honey Bear0 -
Had barbecue. Enjoyed a puppet show from the kids next door over the fence - everybody died at least once, the Green Goblin was chased away by a bear, there was a huge battle fought offstage and in Act 2, Princess Tiana married Spiderman and had two babies whilst Venom proposed to Iron Man.
Mithering Mate turned up. And left to mither some more elsewhere.
But a good day in all.I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll0 -
Hi all
Sorry life has just carried me off elsewhere this week so I have missed you all. However things are all good in the YL household. My windows are filthy and the LR a little dusty but other than that the house is reasonably OK. Lots of laundry to do though.
Yesterday was spent cycling and sunbathing which was very nice. Today I want to tackle the little area where we sit out in summer which is fenced on two sides and has trellis on the third. Its very sheltered and private - the only downside is that the previous occupants of our house put concrete down (badly) rather than paving flags which looks a bit grim and never looks very pretty even with pot plants and a couple of garden ornaments. DH did pressure wash it in the winter but it needs a good sweep and the pots weeding. One of the supermarkets was selling squares of artifical grass last year and I was quite tempted.
But first coffee. Enjoy the sunshine everyone x0 -
Morning all. Hope you are well and enjoying the sunshine.
Lovely kittens HB.
I am sitting in the garden with my first cuppa of the day. Stupid neighbour is moving stuff around in his pit of a garden- too early. Yesterday he flattened a pile of mud so they could put a reclining chair out there and have a barbecue which was billowing flames so they must have used petrol or something.
I cleaned one car yesterday and did gardening so today will be a repeat of that.
Have a great day everyone.Spend less now, work less later.0 -
Morning all.
Congratulations Valli on your exemplary achievements
Had a good day yesterday. A productive meeting with my supervisor was followed by an outing with my friend to one of the local GCs, where she kindly bought me lunch (using my £3 discount voucher) and I bought £35 worth of compost and plants for only £10 outlay (thanks to more discount and gift vouchers).
Very :money:
DH had a pleasant day working on the railway despite a 2.5 hour delay to the afternoon trains because of an earlier lineside fire - they had to close the whole line for 1.5 hours so that the fire brigade could gain access and put it out - and (separately) the big blue engine that everybody wants to see breaking downFortunately the sunshine kept most visitors in a good mood!
Because DH was so late getting home, he missed what turned out to be the highlight of my day: a splendid concert at my church by six members of the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra who call themselves the Little Big Band. Such fun, lovely music from jazz to opera and all shades of classical between, played to a packed church. It was a great way to celebrate (nearly) the end of our 175th anniversary year.
Today is a normal Sunday with an extra service (baptism of a young member of the toddler group) and hopefully an outing to a nearby open garden this afternoon - it might inspire me to declutter a few more dandelions from my own garden (I did clear the front path yesterday, and tidy up and water the pots).
Happy Sunday, everyone0 -
It's beautifully quiet here, warm, sunny and peaceful.
So he's taking me to stand in a dark venue with hundreds, if not thousands of other people with lots of loud music and general rowdiness.
Fortunately, it's a triple headliner and the ones we're interested in are playing at about 8pm, so, as a proper old person gig, we get to leave early
