    Ouch! Jojo.

Hope everything sorts itself soon, Mumof2. X

Busy, busy day at work, but not in a "I can't do this anymore" kind of way. So all ok.
I'm already in my pjs, DH is out, DD is upstairs. I have a cuppa, but the big disaster of the evening is that the cheese has RUN OUT!! I think DH might be despatched for an emergency shop tomorrow, given that it is bank holiday and all that.

    Thanks for the hugs.

I managed to get my typing done but no housework so spent an hour outside just now trimming the escalonia and pyracantha ... they grow so quickly! Hung up a load of washing too and hope it dries on the midden above the stairs. J did tea whilst I worked.

Fayolle; I'm about to put my PJs on too as get so tired. Hope you manage to get some cheese quickly!

There's a special place in the underworld for people who phone just as dinner is being served, only to go on for over 40 minutes about stuff that could wait until ANY OTHER MOMENT. Such as when they visit TOMORROW.

(and I'm none too impressed with Himself for putting up with it, as his absolutely lovely dinner that he cooked - fresh cod, samphire, sea aster, Okahjiki, courgette wedges, new potatoes and lemon - was absolutely stone cold when he got to actually eat his).

    Smiley waves this morning :hello:

Firstly, big hugs for Mumof2. Hope things start to look brighter soon x

DH enjoyed his first "week" at his new job, although did have to go back to the old branch to help with a problem they couldn't sort. He was happy though as the old lads bought him KFC for lunch. He seems much happier and positive, which makes things easier between us. Thank you for all the good luck vibes xxx

My sister and her family are travelling up from Sussex today to stay for a night before heading up Manchester way to see BiL's family. Not sure how I feel about them staying...fussy eaters, loud and shouty plus the state of my [STRIKE]pit[/STRIKE] house will be much remarked upon. Ah well, they haven't been before, so I'll muddle through.

Better scrub the loo, ready for visitors...

Morning all  Beautiful sunny day here :)

DH has gone off to the railway. He has finally admitted that taking the walking stick that he used in Germany was a great help, and has taken it with him today.

Rosie is lying in her usual morning spot on the half-landing, where she can keep an eye on everything.

    I have already
    - booked myself a GP appointment for Monday morning - yes, on the Bank Holiday!
    - FUPA washing
    - eaten breakfast

I have a pile of admin work to do today, but very painful hands (arthritis or tendonitis???). DH and I reckon we have one good body between us - but it would look ridiculous :rotfl:

I also have a meeting with my supervisor at 11.30.
The garden pots desperately need attention - at the very least, water.
    The lawn needs mowing.
    Rosie needs a walk.
My suicidal friend needs company - maybe go out with her for a late lunch?
... and we're out at a concert this evening :)

(((Hugs))) to Mumof2, atb and anyone else in need xxx
Glad you had a nice meal at last, Jojo.

Iona, yes to lunch with your friend.

Morning all. Fridge also now not working here. New fridge freezer arriving Tuesday. Good job we did not plan any family get together this weekend.

Today is dog walking, gardening and maybe car cleaning.

    Have a great day everyone.
Spend less now, work less later.

Morning all .... good nights sleep thanks to Mirtazapine; my new best friend.

Just got back from a run - decided to do the BBC Couch to 5K and today was my first time out. It was hard work but I enjoyed it and I enjoyed the nice feeling when you collapse on the sofa knowing I've done some proper exercise! Had a shower and now got shorts and T-shirt on and will watch the Badminton cross country livestream so that's me sorted lil 5!!

Ionafan how long have you been suffering from tendonitis? It's grim isn't it. Trying to take lots of breaks is key I find and I know mine has definitely improved to how it was. Glad DH took his stick to the railway - sometimes we have to admit we need a bit of extra help but it's not always easy is it.

Dizzy glad DH got on well this week at his new job. Hope all goes well with SIL and family - I hate it when people come in cos it's such a tip in here.

Oh NO!!!! That would constitute a Grade 1 Emergency in our house; cheese being our #1 source of protein.

I'd forgotten it was BH this weekend. Meh! That means the bins will need to be put out a day late this week.

Spare room looks like a Chinese laundry, with clothes all over the place as we try to get our cases organised.

We leave on Friday, drive to Anglesey (well, Holy Island to be accurate) stay there overnight, and catch the Dublin ferry on Saturday. A week in Dublin, then reverse the process - off the ferry, overnight stay on the Saturday at the same motel we holidayed at some years ago, and home on the Sunday.

So we're packing a case each, plus an overnight bag for the motel so that we don't have to touch the main cases for the overnight stay. I have an extensive packing list, with lots of colour-coding and notes of what went in which case, on a spreadsheet. :D

I seriously think the holiday isn't worth the hassle, but Mr LW likes to go away once a year.....
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)
  • Eventually retrieved Himself from his blissful slumbers and persuaded him that we needed to vacuum and flip the mattress, which took a while as I purely coincidentally suggested we hoik all [strike]his crap[/strike] the storage boxes out from underneath the bed and vacuum/rearrange those. There is now a lovely little cat tunnel - a funnel, even - that filters the [strike]furry gits[/strike] darling furbabies from the end of the bed into a secluded place at chest level, rather than have them squabbling and scrabbling through the previous labyrinth right under our heads.

And the state of the posh vacuum bin afterwards is hopefully encouraging Himself to push the thing around all parts of the room, not just the bit his feet happen to touch.

Insisted on remaking the bed with fresh linen (he thought the old stuff was 'fine' - nope, not on my watch, Sunshine) and it now looks and feels just right.

I've slung some bleach down the loo, rinsed the bath of the Spring de-pelting exercise  and walked away from the kitchen in disgust after guiding a rather large lady wasp back out of the house, much to the disgust of the resident kitchen window arachnid, who was looking rather excited at the prospect of paying this week's rent in one stripey go. She's getting to be quite a big girl herself, but as long as she continues to earn her keep and remains up at the top of the window, she and her sticky fishing net get to stay.

In view of the kitchen, however, (and the prospect of Mithering Mate turning up and preventing all chances of a decent meal with his wittering on in circles about things I have no interest in and care even less about - I'd say he was at best somewhat shortsighted about his effect upon the people around him, but Stevie Wonder has more vision and the Idiot Cat has significantly greater self-awareness), I've sent Himself off to the shop to pick up a disposable barbecue so we can singe various things and chuck them onto salad.
