Good morning all,
So I made it to pay day with about 4p left in my budget :rotfl:I don't get paid til about mid day usually but even so, I am glad it is here.
New budgets are roughly - ,£800 for Paris £60 for fuel , we have both filled up this morning already , and about £210 spends. I am hoping Paris costs me less than I have but I'd rather have it & not need it. I already have my own personalized ears for the boys & spinning lights etc . Basically anything I can think of that will save us cash I will take with me.
Going home tomorrow to see my Mummy while hub does a course I have booked him on all about bee keeping. I have been told she has so much stuff for the kids to not fill my boot up before I come :rotfl:It is usually charity stuff but she always makes sure it's in good Nick.
I think we will be going to Beamish on Monday as we have our annual passes & we can take a picnic :j We also have 2 months left on our English heritage so I'd like to use that a couple of times at least
Have a good day all0 -
Good morning everyone.
I keep disappearing and then coming back with my tail between my legs. I have totally blown it again this month.Which is silly of me. I am just not with it at the moment and keep spending. I have a doctors appointment today which i hope will help. Six days left to end the month and I hoping I can make it at least 8 NSDS.
No Spend November 2/15 and SPC 1340 -
NSD: 18/19 Was a spend day. Got food top up, tv mag, topped up oyster, ordered June's buddybox and an ethical/natural deorandant(using one and had 20% discount code. Lasts me quite a while). Going to a tribute night at the social club.
Motivation: To be more mindful regarding spending. This is going to be ongoing. So far doing ok.
Money: The budget for each category is done.
Me time: Wordsearch and mindfulness colouring. Plenty of rest.
Move: Planning to walk to social club this evening.
Activation: To get my spending down to a reasonable amount.
Arm yourself: Will have to stand strong in my quest against consumerism and acquiring more. Still doing this.
Donation to charity: Done for the month.
Grateful for:
Did some baking, which I have not done for ages.
Been told that I will be making my final trip to my Dad's house on Thursday to take the gas and electric meter reading. The sale of the house is finally going through. All to finalised next Friday.
Going out tonight to social club.
Started to have a clear out of clutter. Have put somethings in the bin and somethings put aside to go to cs.Frugal Living Challenge 2025 Mortgage free as of 1st August 20130 -

Motivation: have short/ medium/ long term goals. OH's 0% CC will be closed this month as the statement showing it has been repaid has come through :T Ebayer has paid and so small OP paid to my CC
Money: All DDs gone so all money left is ours... thankfully CB arrived today, as there was diddly squat left!
Move: Been pootling around but nothing 'proper' Managing 8-9k steps and active minutes but nothing more
Activation: What spurs you on? - Not feeling it so much this month - probably a combination of DS3's bug, work and hayfever. Hoping to re-energise and re-focus over half term break ready for June
Arm yourself : bought a cheap replacement strap for fitbit (£3) as other broke. Have a replacement coming form f1tbit (free) but takes a while. Also means I now have 2 colour choices for straps
Appreciate what you have. Be grateful.
* DS3 being well enough to go back to school yesterday
* DS1 finishing Y13 today
* Lovely colleagues (it's been a hard week!)
* Lovely friends
* Using up things we have - dug out more hotel and airline toiletries to use up before buying stuff
* DS3's eyes being back to bright and shiny, instead of dull
Foodbank/ charity donation of £5. - monthly DD to WWT. 2 bags of items donated to shoebox appeal - new bag started Huge bag of stuff donated to CS (some new in packaging). Also donated some random foreign coins (ie: not euros or dollars) to school collection - they raise money from them. Also started a new CS bag.
Pay to your debt/savings FIRST and live off the rest. - done Few small extra payments made since. Also took remaining balance from OH's switching c/ac (unused for several months) and paid to CC (just over £65) plus OP to mtge of £220.
Plan the month: every single day: what you are doing, what you are eating, - sort of - have written in work days, day when collecting DD from uni, DS3's, my mum's, my sister's, my aunt's and bestie's husband's bdays... Am not going to plan food, though).
Check in every day. oops -am checking in sporadically....

Hi everyone
I'm just reporting in with a quick hello as I've been so busy with exam stuff the past couple of days that I've barely had time for anything else. On top of that the home situation has been stressful and costly. Although it will be worth it once it's all over, I am not happy that I'm starting to run up debts again... I'm going to try hard to keep the faith and make sure all off budget spends are related to my divorce or the holiday we already had planned.
It's going to be a tough few months, and whilst I might not be debt busting I need to try not to make the situation even worse than it already is.
Not giving up
Working hard to pay off my debt
Time to take back control

Crazy cat lady sounds like you really deserve your holiday
Nice day at work today , lots of laughs, did have to buy snacks for the office. However it is easily my turn, I rarely bring them in & so I don't mind.
Looking forward to my little trip tomorrow - snacks and juice are already loaded into the car.in fact I bought a crate of little fruit shoots on offer which I'm going to keep in my boot.
Grateful for : things going well at work , finding the time to finish my book, my friend giving me her kids old bath toys, the garden looking lovely & my baby laughing his head off when I blow his belly0 -
Hi all :j
Motivation: what is your personal motivation for joining in with the turtles? My motivation is to cut down on the unnecessary spending and pay for some renovations to this property. In order to do this I think we need to be saving money by doing any jobs we can realistically (!) do ourselves. Bit of a write off today, no gardening as heavy rain all day. Still saved me a job, also got onto the website for a survey should net £5.
Money: know your income and outgoings. All DD bills should have gone out by now and I am going to add up our income, that won't take very long.. so far have done now two grocery shops. Grocery bill so far £57.07. Did go to shops today as had to post a letter at the PO; but used vouchers to get hair stuff, only had to pay 23p. Then Mbobs who have various things I can't get elsewhere. No shopping now till next Tuesday, and then not much.
Me time: look after yourself. Get enough sleep; eat well; move; do things you enjoy. Good sleep but then woke earlyish & then suddenly remembered I had left something in the bottom oven last night,,,,of course I had to get up then. It was OK - ish, was only the rice I have in the mornings, so not much to spoil really. Had some of the YS food as well as store cupboard items, very tasty. Not much moving tbh.
Move: being active benefits your body and your mind. You know that. Now do it. Nope, not today.
Activation: what spurs you on to keep on the path? Have not done much decluttering but have identified some items to sell to a fellow collector. Just need to find out how to price, which will be tricky as rare items & not available so need to research somehow. Got reply from friend re collectables; need to send her some photos & she has a source that she can consult. Sadly also told me she is very unwell with heart trouble. Photographed stuff to send to friend & actually sent them to her, so process started although I don't expect to hear for a little while. Took more photos, will post to try & get more sales. Lady received DVDs & says that she showed one film at the weekend, which she says will increase my DVD sales. All DVD sales sent off now - by chance I found a few US format ones from the first time we made them....PayPal balance looking very healthy & intend now to try to sell some other stuff over the BH weekend. One large bag filled & one to go.
Arm yourself : you have chosen to follow a path that many mock and despise - that of ridding yourself of debt and financial constrictions in order to be free; free to choose what to do with your money and time, not enslaved to repaying or to other people. Glad we are not bothered about 'keeping up with the Joneses' - have done that a long time ago but really do not care any more. It's how some people validate themselves & that's fine, but not for me. We are now free from paid work commitments but spent many years getting there, wish it had been sooner. Desperate need of decluttering & getting rid of old lifestyle. Am going to do this so will post progress on here to keep me accountable. Got some stuff out of top cupboard of very large fitted wardrobes in our bedroom, things I had no idea were there...whoops!
You. Are you happy in yourself? Know what brings you joy, what cheers your heart, what makes you pause and wonder. Don't just stop and smell the coffee in the morning; practise stopping and looking around throughout the day. Appreciate what you have. Be grateful. Gratitudes Chatting with DD when she surfaced - without falling out, a rare occurrence; tasty food, lovely smell after rain on the garden....
