Sorry haven't posted for a while - lost track of NSDs although today has been one :D. Feel like May has been a bit of a wash out, definitely looking forward to payday and feeling motivated for the June challenge.

    Hi all :j

Motivation: what is your personal motivation for joining in with the turtles? My motivation is to cut down on the unnecessary spending and pay for some renovations to this property. In order to do this I think we need to be saving money by doing any jobs we can realistically (!) do ourselves.

    Money:
know your income and outgoings. All DD bills should have gone out by now and I am going to add up our income, that won't take very long.. so far have done now two grocery shops. Grocery bill so far £57.07. No shopping today, all food from stores.

Me time: look after yourself. Get enough sleep; eat well; move; do things you enjoy. Good sleep; ate well, out early in the garden & greenhouse before it got too hot. Some of the seeds I planted the other day are already up. Will have lots of soft fruit this year by the looks of it

Move: being active benefits your body and your mind. You know that. Now do it. Most of the movement today involved housework, took advantage of everyone being out to clean family room, it was minging.

Activation: what spurs you on to keep on the path? Have not done much decluttering but have identified some items to sell to a fellow collector. Just need to find out how to price, which will be tricky as rare items & not available so need to research somehow. Got reply from friend re collectables; need to send her some photos & she has a source that she can consult. Sadly also told me she is very unwell with heart trouble. Photographed stuff to send to friend & actually sent them to her, so process started although I don't expect to hear for a little while. Took more photos, will post to try & get more sales. Lady received DVDs & says that she showed one film at the weekend, which she says will increase my DVD sales. All DVD sales sent off now - by chance I found a few US format ones from the first time we made them....PayPal balance looking very healthy & intend now to try to sell some other stuff over the BH weekend. Filled some vac bags, surprised at how much can be got in them. Got a lot done but not on clearing more on cooking & cleaning but was in desperate need. Also cleaned out fridge & put in freezer items.

Arm yourself : you have chosen to follow a path that many mock and despise - that of ridding yourself of debt and financial constrictions in order to be free; free to choose what to do with your money and time, not enslaved to repaying or to other people. Glad we are not bothered about 'keeping up with the Joneses' - have done that a long time ago but really do not care any more. It's how some people validate themselves & that's fine, but not for me. We are now free from paid work commitments but spent many years getting there, wish it had been sooner. Desperate need of decluttering & getting rid of old lifestyle. Am going to do this so will post progress on here to keep me accountable. Got some rags ready for CS tomorrow, also washed some china off the dresser to take as well, plus a couple of books.

[/COLOR]You. Are you happy in yourself? Know what brings you joy, what cheers your heart, what makes you pause and wonder. Don't just stop and smell the coffee in the morning; practise stopping and looking around throughout the day. Appreciate what you have. Be grateful. Gratitudes [/B Peaceful day on my own; DD happy as her items are all selling; line full of washing dry; quiet lunch on my own with reading material; no TV on all day till this evening..

    Good morning all :o

Lavender bee I loved pregnancy freebies. I miss them lol.

Today should be a NSD in fact I'm hoping to keep spends to a minimum until we go away. I did end up spending yesterday though - 3 Christmas presents. Hub showed me 3 rather pricey books he would like & I thought I would order them while I remembered. I appreciate it is still only May but I find if I just get a few bits as I go along it makes my life so much easier come December & a little less costly all in one hit.

My mission this week is eat everything perishable so nothing needs chucking out at the weekend. Left over Ham will be used for ham egg & chips tonight, left over bacon for pasta bake tomorrow, left over chicken will be used in paella Friday & that just leaves mashed potato, which I'll make with cheeses & beans for one of the boys lunches & Salad for me for lunches.

Sat out in the garden last night & it was lovely. Glass of wine , fire burning chatting to hub. My life needs more of these moments. I spend my whole life like a blue bottomed fly & I need to remember to stop & smell the roses occasionally. :o

Grateful for - a day pottering in the garden, watching my chucks sunbathe , hub loving his beekeeping course & for my hub is general who puts up with my OCD / anxiety & seems to love me anyway!!:A

    NSD 14

Cleaning and clearing house continues. Did not get as much done yesterday as I hoped, but on the plus side, cleaning is happy to wait until you have the time.

Only today and tomorrow until payday. All still within budget. Food in pantry.

Managed 3/4 of my run this morning - The first half was really good, then as soon as I turned to do the way back, I got cramp in both foot arches, and then when I tried to stretch against a tree, I got cramp in both calves at the same time. So I walked for 3 minutes until it mostly went away and then trotted back home.
Still, it was 2km, walked or run, it was 2km. Will rest the running tomorrow, might just walk it instead. Movement is movement, innit? Keep-on swimming might be more turtle-y though......

  • Last night ended up in Hospital for me. I had to give my friend £10 petrol money and ate for the first time in about 12 hours. I am not going to include them as spend. I get paid on Thursday and my budget will reset for the month. I am also doing the frugal challenge so trying to live with in my means.

Hugs indigo. Remember you are still at crisis level. Anything you manage to do is a plus, even getting out of bed. Good luck with the challenge but above all treat yourself with care and gentleness.
