  • It blooming well is their fault the bank have said it and so has a senior police officer in the uk who is a family freind has said it is too im sorry but the company have misplaced my funds failed to even take into consideration my e-mails and spoke to me as if i was a liar.
Its their responsibility to make sure funds reach customers. They dont have to refund the card i paid with at all if there is an new card on file does not take them two seconds to verify that card is legit.
I can certainly blame them if i did not do everything in my power to make sure there were no misunderstandings i would not have any recourse but i do. I have no confidence in amazon anymore

I'm sorry, it isn't their fault. I'm not sure where your senior police officer is getting his information from, perhaps he miss-understands the situation but legally, if thats what the senior police officer was referring to they haven't done anything wrong. I expect perhaps, the senior police officer was meaning the principle (although thats debatable) rather than the technicalities, because otherwise he is wrong.
  • think we are going to disagree with this one ukim29 its not the banks fault nor is it mine i returned an item in good faith and this is how things have panned out. They have made a mistake they should correct it otherwise were does that leave me well with no money the bank said they never received it which leads me to believe amazon have got my money where else is it? if the bank have not got it. the policy of refunds is fundementally flawed and should be changed im sure im not the first nor will i be the last person to be caused undue stress because of such archaic practices.

I gave them till friday to refund me via cheque if that does not come to pass will give them one last chance to rectify their mistake and will pesue legal proceedings.

    Keep you updated.

The thing is theres probably someone at Amazon willing to refund you probably via cheque if they can see the money they oirginally sent you has come back. Even though the bank say they haven't got it that doesn't mean it's visible to Amazon yet. As I said it may be like an email that goes to an email address that no longer exists where it takes a while to go back to the original owner as undelivered.

With that probably being the case it doesn't make it Amazons fault. The fact you've told them new card details is irrelevant. They can't refund your new card anyway. It's probably on a line somewhere between Amazon and the bank but why does that make it Amazons fault?
  • had an e-mail amazon will refund me the total amount within 24 hours to the correct bank details. Im waiting on tenterhooks.
  • thank you all for all your help

Wig i dont know how more times i have to say they are in a position to know I notified them of the change on two separate occasions and placed orders using a difference card fall short of putting this in neon lights i dont know what more i could have done.

But you don't say at what point you notified them, placing orders on a different card is irrelevant, that does not tell them the old card was lost/stolen.

However, the whole process of telling them or not telling them is IMHO irrelevant, they can still credit the old card and the credit should be processed by your bank.

All we know so far is that something went wrong, we don't yet know what it was.
Plus my other issues on this thread is outstanding too

Wig said a valid point, with refunds you tend to not have much of a choice as to what card the refund will go onto, it tends to go back onto the card that was used to pay for the goods,
