I see it's now "sometime next week".
Too late then for folks who sort out their finances around the month end.

TSB's Spanish parent company has warned that services might not be back to normal until sometime next week!

Jaime Guardiola, the CEO of Banco Sabadell, told analysts this morning that the migration onto its IT kit (from TSB's previous owner, Lloyds) had been problematic: Fixing the problem took more time than expected and we were not able to reopen access until Wednesday. I expect next week we will reach something very close to normality"

The boost back to 5% interest is more than welcome :)

I'm about to make a large transaction via my debit card so I hoping it's sorted. There is a plan B which involves another bank but I'd rather not.

Did anybody hear the 5live radio clip this morning?

Apparently standing orders, direct debits and cards are not just working, they are working fantastically well.

I wasnt aware there were different grades of how much a card payment could work. Trump-esque isnt is.

The best direct debits and standing orders. Everybody is saying what a fantastic job we've done with this. We've never had direct debits as good as this. Believe me.

Yes - and I'm keeping an audio copy. Pester said that the 5% rate on current accounts was only for existing customers - but that for them "... the [5%] rate doesn't change..." and for them "... that rate is there for good...". But he didn't specify the effective date for this increase. 1st April? Last Monday? Today?

No doubt in practice "for good" only means for as long as TSB continue to offer the Classic Plus account to new customers at 3%. And quite possibly TSB will now start implementing their previous change in T&C for existing customers permitting them to reduce us to one sole/one joint per person instead of two of each.

Things have certainly been pretty stormy for TSB (and its customers) this week.... ;)

They are facts. We, that is to say my wife and I, aim to run fewer accounts. Are you always such a twerp?

Was it really necessary to refer to someone as a twerp? Your post answered their comments perfectly without it.

They will save relative peanuts by reducing the eligible account to one and cause upset in the process. Not what they are looking for right now. Plus dont encourage them!

TSB will be offering 5% to new customers I guess as part incentive to switch to them! Its going to be a difficult sell. Switch to TSB the bank that stuffed up big time.:)

Also giving 5% to existing customers is a 'soft' way of paying compensation without paying individual complainants.
