The solicitor just called me. They don't deal with parking cases anymore. The person who did the case in 2016 is now retired. I asked if they could offer any advice just to see if I qualify for an appeal and they said they couldn't. I asked if they have the 30mins free consultation, she said no so I offered to pay for that consultation but she stil said they could not offer any advice as they don't deal with such cases anymore paid consultation or unpaid.Wait till you speak to the solicitor, if the time to pay is not up
Still trying to get hold of the court. Last hope!0 -
Will the fact that the additional £50 was not in original contract be enough? Although it was in the letters sent by UKPC but not on the contract between them and the trust. For an appeal, you really can only focus on finding a point of law that the DJ misdirected themselves on. Findings of fact are almost impossible to overturn.0 -
£60 I meant.additional £500 -

Then i am sorry to say you have no real chance and your only option is to pay, not what we want you to do though0 -
Parkingfines, do you not think I have any chance with the court at all? Especially with the extra £60 added but never on the contract? Just want to know thanks. Then i am sorry to say you have no real chance and your only option is to pay, not what we want you to do though0 -
No I doubt very much it would make a very good appeal point at all. Just being honest0

There is always a chance. The extra £60 is a fake and as you know double recovery.
I really do not think your union rep understands.
The contract is the signage and amounts cannot just be added as they wish.
A good judge will understand that0 -
The whole industry is a scam, relying on threats of court, and the public's ignorance of the Law, A bill is currently before parliament which will regulate the scammers, many of whom are ex-clampers.
Hopefully that will take place in the near future. The Bill has passed through the HOC without hitch, and goes to the Lords soon. In the meantime involve your MP, the poor dears are buckling under the weight of complaints about these scammers.
This is an entirely unregulated industry which is scamming the public with inflated claims for minor breaches of alleged contracts for alleged parking offences, aided and abetted by a handful of low-rent solicitors. Is has been suggested by an MP that some of these companies may have connections to organised crime.
Parking Eye, CPM, Smart, (especially Smart}, and others have already been named and shamed in the House of Commons as have Gladstones Solicitors, and BW Legal, (these two law firms take hundreds of these cases to court each week), hospital car parks and residential complex tickets have been especially mentioned. They lose most of them, and have been reported to the regulatory authority by an M.P. for unprofessional conduct
The problem has become so widespread that MPs have agreed to enact a Bill to regulate these scammers.
Sir Greg Knight's Private Members Bill to curb the excesses, and perhaps close down, some of these companies passed its Third Reading in late November, and, with a fair wind, will become Law next year.
All three readings are available to watch on the internet, (some 6-7 hours), and published in Hansard. MPs have an extremely low opinion of the industry. Many are complaining that they are becoming overwhelmed by complaints from members of the public. Add to their burden, complain in the most robust terms about the scammers. You never know how far you can go until you go too far.0 -
Dont you get bored of copy and pasting the same stuff......0
