Hmm, the day did not go according to plan.

I did get several hours of creative work done that I am pleased with but I went to a Ner0 not the Swedish store.

I went to Ald1 too and spent £40  as I treated myself to some Prosecco. I haven’t had any wine for ages so I don’t feel bad about it. On the plus side, I seem to have gone off chocolate. I haven’t eaten any in several days.

I plan to do some more creative work later this evening.

Tomorrow I am out meeting a friend for coffee and to look at houses. She is moving to an area I hope to move to as well when my house is ready to sell. I haven’t socialised enough lately so I am looking forward to seeing my friend.

    Welcome to the weekend :),

Well done on getting the creative work done for the last couple of days :T. Going to a coffee shop definitely seems to work for you. Can you combine going to the coffee shop with a walk so that you can tick the exercise box too?

Well done on getting all the PPI letters sent too and I hope you can afford to get your floors sanded :).

Thanks HH. I could indeed walk but it is such an ugly exhaust-inhaling walk. Maybe I will look up an alternative route. Thanks for the nudge.
Re the floor. The quote is in. He wants over £1,000 to sand the floor. I think that is too much so I will keep looking :( At least I have started the process :)

    Interesting.
I had a quote of very similar amount last year.
I was told as it is labour intensive.

Hello DIA! Long time lurker here.
How big is your room you want done?
I had mine done last summer. They didn't recommend waxing it. I had mine sanded, stained (as wanted it darker) and then as mine is high traffic area (front door opens into living room) they used some kind of lacquer that they use in sports halls. It is still good as new 8 months later.
I had two rooms done both about 3.5x3.5msq and a tiny square of hall and I paid £600. I did have a quote of well over £1000. It's definitely worth getting more quotes.
I think it would have cost me way in excess of £300 to do it myself by the time I had hired the equipment and paid for all the sanding belts and products.
It looks lovely now though :)

    Thanks for delurking Clippygirl.
I will measure the room as one of the companies charges £20 per square metre, although I have to find out how to measure a square meter :o
I will get a few more quotes as you suggest.
    Thank you :)

It is cold today but it also February so I should not be complaining as it is supposed to be cold in February

Today I was due to meet a friend but we had to defer to another day. It was unavoidable but disappointing all the same

I am decluttering at an alarming rate. Today shoes, 2 skirts, a dress, a cardigan, a top. One skirt I have been trying to slim into for ages and now it goes on I can see it is too short! The other issue is I need new clothes. I keep getting rid without replacing. I only buy at sale time so I will have it wait.

I got a nope from one of the banks that charged me high fees at a time I was struggling. I will now go to the Ombudsman. It seems quite straightforward to do so from what I can see from the leaflet.

I am looking at new floor sanders. I used a company in 2009 for another room. I was very happy with them, but annoyingly I cannot find their details or recall their name. I will keep going with finding other companies to quote for the room :)

Off to do some ironing, washing up and make a call.

Not that motivated today and feeling a little meh, but pushing through.

Up early after a great sleep and despite the ugly weather I feel less meh than yesterday.:)

I left a message with another floor sanding company.

Today the plan is to get some creative work done. Finally the project is beginning to take grip so that I wake up WANTING to do it. If only this could have kicked in a few months back, but better late than never.

I’m going to do a few drudge jobs then go to Ner0 and work from there for a few hours.

I have a few stamped free coffee cards and I will take nuts, an apple and a few coins from my piggy bank for some sort of treat if I feel I need it. I have had a £20 note for a few days and I want to see how long I can go without using it. I wonder if I could go the whole of next week on £20? :money:

    Happy Sunday everyone :)

Good luck with your creative work and a great idea to go to Cafe Nero to do it. Well done on not spending the £20 yet :T.
