A weird day for me where I couldn’t get settled into my project work so very little achieved :(

I ate one frog in that I found some old paperwork and wrote a PP1 letter and posted it. :money:

    Soup made.

Kept on top of the dishes, although the house is looking messy AGAIN

Today won’t go down as a productive day.

If there was a school report it would say ‘could do better’…

I hope you have all had a better day than me.

Thought I'd throw a provocative question out there...

What would you do in your paid employment if you weren't settling into the creative work or you didn't feel in the creative zone? I realise the project work you're doing right now may be different, but just wondered if there's some techniques you could use to push you to get some things done or at least keep up creative momentum?

My job is fairly creative (with words) and it can be a struggle when I'm in a creative lull but i feel like in my job there's only so much i can put it off and do other things before I have to force myself to progress.

Maybe just something worth thinking about as the deadline nears?

*NOTE* : Just trying to provide food for thought - no judgement/ negativity AT ALL!

You are right AGAIN Homegrown. I think WFH allows me to do other stuff when the going gets tough. I have a good day and get overconfident and stay home. Guess what? I will be working out of the home tomorrow.

Generally when it is paid work it is so different I can almost go on autopilot. My creative work needs focus and a different sort of energy so its hard to compare.

There are great days like yesterday and rubbish days like today but I can definitely be more proactive and leave the house to help myself. I will tomorrow. Thanks for helping me think it through.

I always find your comments incredibly helpful and I don't think you could be negative if you tried. :)

    Thank you :)

I felt so guilty about wasting the day that I had a late evening every burst and:

    Cleared dining room table
    Threw away simple carb food
    Hoovered and tidied dining room
Clothes found to wash and donate when dry (machine now on) will dry outside in the morning
    Bins and rubbish sorted

    FROG
Called for a quote for getting the floor sanded, sealed and waxed in the newly decorated room with new window. Had a text back already :)

    FROG
Letter of complaint to phone provider done

    FROG
Another PP1 letter completed and ready for the PO for proof of sending :)

Not so bad in the end :)

    2 more FROGS

And another 2 PP1 letters done and ready for posting. Stopping now as I am so clearly overcompensating for my lacklustre day :o

Glad I could be of some help :)

You know I only spot these things because it's like looking in a mirror! haha

I'm currently procrastinating and putting off a few things that I should be moving on so going to grab some breakfast and force myself into a motivated state! Practice what I preach and all that...:rotfl:

All good here. I even ate well. That said, I’ve lost the plot on exercise again. I’ve just noticed I’ve been sedentary for days…

    HOUSE RENOVATION
The person who is quoting for sanding, sealing and waxing the floor in the new room got back to me and wants to come at 7am on Friday so I said yes to that. I’ll need another few quotes but I’ve made a start.

    MSE :money:
I would like to get the floor sanded ASAP, but I am aware the car insurance and car tax are both due in a few months so I will need to think carefully…

It is nice to be able to do washing and know it will dry. I am also loving not using heating during February :)

I am planning to use March to really save money. I should get away with barely shopping for food at all. One of the things I want to do is eat from the freezer so I can turn it off whilst I am way and save even more money.

All the PP1 letters have been sent plus a complaint letter. Fingers crossed that something pays off.

I reduced some standing orders and changed a few dates. I set up my water rates for the new financial year. I was moved the saved £20 to my Credit Union account for my car costs coming up.

    CREATIVE PROJECT
Yay. I left the house and got work done. A good few hours. I might even do more later this evening :)

I hope you all had a good day too
