  • I think it is doable and it would be good to be able to do the work on the house more quickly. Whether you can do it and live well is a different matter. Good luck with it, it's definitely doable and the end goal could make it all worthwhile :).

It sounds like it's doable DIA.

It's not like you HAVE to live on 1k, but that every penny you spend over 1k is eating into your house progress, so I'd imagine that'll make you think carefully about additional spends? I'd imagine it make me think that way.

You've got no debt and no mortgage... so you know how to do it. SOA and work out what you can cut where - and if you know how much you need to save, you know how long it is for so you can decide on the goal.

Actually, it seems a very sensible idea. Put yourself on a tight budget for a set period of time (one you know you can cope with) and have a goal at the end of it. I might have a think about that myself...
  • I think you can do it, but I agree you should think very carefully whether you actually want to. Life is too short to make yourself any more miserable than necessary.

    May 2019 bring you joy

Yes HH, I think it is doable. Living well should also be possible if I can get my food shopping under control. Here's to giving it a go

    Thanks Cumbria. You too :)

It will only be for 3 months and I couldn't truly be miserable as I won't be going to work or commuting or dealing with office politics :D
Added to that I do like a challenge ;)
Oh, and the pay off will be bringing back into use a room I haven't used for many years :)
Happy New Year with lots of joy to you too Rosa :)
