I agree about alcohol making you sluggish and craving sugar. Sugar also makes me crave more sugar and feel sluggish :).

I hope some of the clothes fit.

It's a good idea to sign and pay the deposit for the window, then you can have a useable room and be ready for the lady decorator.
Thanks HH. The clothes still fit but I know I have added a few pounds and I want to stop the slow creep. I think nuts are partly to blame too so I've stocked up with blueberries, apples and satsumas. Onwards and upwards :)

  • I just had my final window meeting before they fit. The surveyor came too. I didn’t like having two of them in my home at the same time. I dislike being outnumbered by strangers. That said it went well. I made a payment. I was clear about wanting to check the windows and for them to be demonstrated in daylight hours. Hopefully it will all be okay on the day.

My back door has a broken hinge and they ordered the new part for the door to be fixed. It will good to be able to open the door without propping it open. There is a small space where water comes in. They will reseal that area too. I'm glad I ask for them to do this. :)

I am glad the appointment is out of the way. I can forget about this for a bit now.

I am going to have some breakfast now as I couldn’t eat before due to nerves. Then I will drive to IKEA and buy my office chair

I hope you are all having a good start to the week :)

Great news on the window meeting, and coping with the fact that there were two of them there. And that the little annoying job on the door will be done at the same time.

Enjoy the first 'working' day of your sabbatical!

Thanks HH. Going to go to IK3A tomorrow as the meeting left me stressed and so will finding the chair and the drive there. I have the time now to spread these things out. I'd forgotten that. So, I will be walking 4 miles instead to Primarni for some brushed cotton PJs and some slippers so I am more comfortable indoors :)

Aww Parsniphead. Thanks for dropping by. So good to 'see' you here :D You have bigger fish to fry than windows. When you are better you will get your windows sorted too. :) I hope you are okay.

I walked 4 miles today and it is a good start. This equates to 8,000 steps. ;) However, I need to walk 5 miles for 10,000 steps. I must be unfit as I feel tired (although my tiredness may be low iron).

I am wearing my Primarni PJs. They are lovely and cosy. 100% brushed cotton. A bargain at £8 :)

I don’t have slippers. I will tough it out and pick some up in the sales in a few weeks time.

I bought a present for a relative’s birthday. He has expensive tastes and likes brandy! I got a bottle of Remy cognac in a box that was on offer for £28 instead of £36. Still expensive but he deserves it :) Tomorrow I will drop by to deliver it. ;)

I am definitely feeling less edgy. It’s probably having the window’s appointment behind me. And I think all the walking helped.

    Have a relaxing evening everyone.

  • I'm sure the walking helped with the edginess, it always relaxes me. I can recommend Pilates too for relaxing your body and mind.
