  • I can pay the fine HH but it will have to come at the expense of something else as I pushed it to pay for the window. I am cross with myself really but trying not to be as it won't help :(

  • Thanks Rosa, HH, Homegrown, Chrystal, and Beanielou. Your comments helped me put yesterday in perspective. Onwards and upwards today for me

My veg box came today. It is lovely except a cauliflower that is bit tired. If you let them know an item is not up to scratch they refund for it but in the past I got tired of continually doing so. Now I need to make it part of my schedule: receive, check and write to them—all done now.

It is good to have the veggies. I’m already menu planning based on them. I will post a menu plan later.

Friday is now my weekly shop day so going to do a list and drive to one destination where I have the choice of Sains, Ald1 and MnS. The bulk will be Ald1, but I like the basics range in Sains for a few things and YS and eggs from MnS.

I’ve decided not to replace my missing gloves until the Boxing day sales. It is only 12 days away and pockets will do until then.

I was due to meet a friend today but I asked if we could meet next week instead as I need a quiet day.

I need a grater so I will do a 4 mile walk to get one. I looked up a low pollution route so will do that and get a coffee whilst out too. Taking my cup so it is cheaper. The walk will help clear my head and put yesterday behind me.

I’ll check diaries on my return.

Have a positive day everyone :)

Thanks Mark8. I didn't get the grater. Grater was for potato rosti. I'll be roasting the cauliflower. Although now you mention cauliflower cheese...:)

    I walked 4 miles today :)

I returned clothes that were unsuitable

    Finances checked and balanced

I decided not to do the weekly shop today. There is nothing I desperately need and I am reasonably sure I can get by for another week without doing a weekly shop. This will offset the expensive day yesterday. Having the veggie box helps as I can see some meals I can make. I’m going to try to push through to next Friday.

I will however need eggs and 2 tins of kidney beans, and a grater, but I can save petrol and fares by walking and putting everything in my back pack. I’ll do that tomorrow and use the money in my purse and the spare change in my piggy bank.

So the food being cooked/prepped ahead for the next few days will be:

    Smoked haddock fishcakes
    Baked meatballs (done)
    Shredded coleslaw
    Lettuce boats
    Tahini sauce

In addition there is soup, apples, a few inches of parmesan, and some cooked quinoa in the fridge.

It could be worse. Actually it has been worse. This feels doable :)

Happy end of the week. We made it :T
