FRIDAY?? Did you say FRIDAY!? I can't believe it's come around so quickly. I may have missed this since I've been away a fair bit lately, but is this a 3 month sabbatical with you considering not going back at the end of it, depending on what happens? My brain isn't working.
Long may those pesky squirrels leave you alone to get a sleep in peace.
Now I have got my head around getting the window and the price is doable I am looking forward to the work (a first for me) You are right about the politely bit. I was really nice to the salesman and upfront about having a budget and needing for the price point to come down 'was there anything we could do?' I am feeling stressed today.
So much so my tummy is upset. So I’m doing an angst and action list. I haven’t walked anywhere for 2 days so I need to get some fresh air and get my blood pumping. Always helps when I feel this way
Angst
Worried I am overdrawn
Action
[STRIKE]Take a walk after work and check balance[/STRIKE]
Done. I am not overdrawn
Angst
The windows, as this will be the most money I have spent on a home renovation in a long time and large sums of money are scary to me in case I get it wrong.
Action
[STRIKE]Emailled the company to ask questions and make sure all my queries are resolved before I sign and pay the deposit[/STRIKE] Done
Angst
Finishing work and getting all I need to get done before I leave
Action
[STRIKE]Making a list of all outstanding actions/Noting passwords and logins. Agreed a back to work plan and a few days acclimatising on my return[/STRIKE] Done
Angst
A sick relative I have not made time to see in the past 2 weeks
Action
Phone him to hear his voice and visit next week when I am off work NO ACTION YET
Angst
The house is again totally disorganised, cluttered and there are many unwashed dishes
Action
[STRIKE]Do dishes[/STRIKE] Done
Angst
My patio doors are within warranty and the opening/closing bracket needs fixing. It makes sense to ask for this to be remedied BEFORE I get the new window as it is the same firm and they have an interest in keeping me happy but I can’t face the paperwork and asking
Action
[STRIKE]Do in stages. First find the papers and check everything is within warranty[/STRIKE]
Done and called the company too. They agreed to fix when windows go in. Part being ordered
Have a good day everyone and if you have an angst thinking of an action might helpIf you have built castles in the air, your work should not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put the foundations under them

Two & bit days to go
Claiming another NSD as I am too lazy and cold to go out in the rain.
I am going to have sardines and lentils and a tin of soup for my supper as nothing else in.
Apples will have to be the treat as I have nothing else sweet in.
On another point I am stopping eating nuts. I am averaging a bag a day and it is way too many. I will be buying seeds and ground almonds instead of whole nuts until the NY to see if that helps my weight loss.

Nuts aren't only bad for the waist lone in greater quantities but also the wallet - they're so expensive these days!
I make a lovely veg stir fry which is kind on the wallet owing to the lack of meat but it just isn't the same without roasting some cashews then crushing them through the stir fry. The pack of nuts alone probably costs the same as all the veg and noodles together!Sealed Pot Challenge 075

Today the only thing left on my angst and action list is to contact/visit my relative.
There is a new problem as there is a slow leak somewhere in my kitchen. I'm going to have to address this. I've spent every penny on the window so god knows where that money to fix it will come from.
I heard squirrels again (sigh)
I am still feeling angsty. I think it is because I stop work tomorrow and that is good, very good, but also scary.
I'm feeling shabby again. It is such a quick slide to shabby and living in a tip.
The plan is to get through tomorrow and then start a new plan: menu, financial, cleaning, decluttering, driving to the recycling centre, washing.
How do people manage all this stuff???
On another unconnected note my neighbour has cancer. She chose not to speak to me because I criticised her dog for pooing on my doorstep. Three years later, her husband told me she is dying. I need to pluck up the courage to knock, ask how she is and deliver a card and some flowers. She's a difficult woman but I will regret it if I don't try and make the peace.
I hope you are all having good enough days and if not hugs and there is always tomorrow. If you have built castles in the air, your work should not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put the foundations under them

You're feeling unsettled because you're about to spend a lot of money on the window and your sabbatical is approaching. You can save more money and the sabbatical is temporary, so you'll be fine, you just need to get used to these changes
.
I had an elderly neighbour once who was rude and unpleasant to us. When I found out she had terminal cancer I took some flowers around and her son was very pleased. It felt like the right thing to do.Finally Debt Free After 34 Years, But Still Need to Live Frugally
