    Result from Amazon

    Dear Customer,

Thank you for contacting us at Amazon.co.uk regarding your order.

Please accept our sincere apologies for any inconvenience and
frustation the promotional issue may have caused.

I have checked your order for the item "Garmin Nuvi 250 Satellite
Navigation System With European Mapping" and see that the item is
eligible for promotion to get a free " Garmin Nuvi Leather Carry
Case for 200 & 300 Series (not widescreen)".

I have reduced the item cost from the order total and now your order
    total comes to:

    Subtotal: £97.79
    Shipping: £0.00
    Tax: £17.11
    Total: £114.90

Whats even better for me is I can get the tax refunded after dispatch and I ordered through cashback rewards so a real bargain. :j

Hi all, there was a link to an ebay store that sold the car holders for the myguide or similar, it was the one that fitted in the vent of car, like a pda holder etc.

For the life of me i can't find the link, anyone got it in their bookmarks?

    Cheers

Some concerns earlier in this thread over V9 versus 2008 maps; the unit I have just received from Amazon is indeed 2008 maps :T

A brilliant unit, very pleased with it. Also includes all European speed cameras (I didn't realise that). Plus you can go to:
    http://www.maft.co.uk/garmin/download.htm
And install 35000 additional points of interest, including IKEA, B&Q, etc etc. Very good! You'll need a USB cable to connect the device to your PC, and the Garmin POI Loader from here:
    http://www8.garmin.com/products/poiloader/

Hope that is useful to some of you!

The update from v9 to 2008 maps hasn't come out yet for current owners, its due soon though. There are Garmin satnavs for sale with the 2008 maps on them, its just a case of checking that the one you purchase has it, or as i said it MAY cost you apx £50 to up date from v9 to 2008, no one actually knows yet except Garmin!! You need to factor this in considering you can buy a Tomtom ONE Europe for £125 with up to date maps.

The best price for tomtom ONE EU now seems to be £145.
  • Couldn't get the offer to work at all, but Amazon have refunded the difference.

Can you put extra voices on it? Think I read somewhere that you can't?

You can get the Europe model with the traffic receiver for £155 from HALFORDS/Dixons which is still pretty good considering the traffic receiver cost £40 on its own, SEE LINK BELOW.

The Tomtom ONE UK T(traffic receiver) £136 Ebuyer.

;) Okay, this may have been posted but don't want to trawl every reply to check!

AxaSunlife have an over 50's plan where the free gift is a garmin sat nav. the monthly premium is £6. If you study the T&C's you'll see that if you cancel after one month ie 1 instalment of 6quid they don't demand the free gift back nor do they state a minimum term.
Hey presto a sat nav for £6. Be legit and cover yourself by asking a relative who is over 50 to use their details, or just lie about your age if your daring!!

has anybody signed up for this and if so is the sat nav any good

They have 100% feedback and look totally legit
and no i dont work for them ! Not sure if i can post the name of the sellers so maybe just try ebay with a search.
This is prob just an amateurs starter type piece of kit but if does the job at that price i am well pleased.
Oh and the seller has links for Garmin webpages for downloads.
sorry if i not technically specific enough...i am a girly lol
