  • So I've left myself just Christmas eve to buy a sat-nav and so this rules out online shopping. With just the high street stores to go to, where is the best deal on the 24th?

Can anyone advise me as to which they think is the better system and if they can beat any of the prices im looking for one with up to date maps speed cameras and points of interest:

    Garmin C510 is £99.99 http://www.shop.bt.com/ProductView.aspx?Quicklinx=4TK0&CategorySelectedId=11035&PageMode=1&InMerch=1

    Navman S30 is £104.99

    Thanks in advance

The Garmins are infinately better than the Navmans in every way!!:D
  • amazon are doing the garmin 250 with europe maps for £114.90, which is cheap anyway - (best price anywhere as far as I can see, and cheaper than the tomtom one v3 with europe maps- the garmin also has - apparently- better map coverage, and longer battery life, so I think it may be useful on holiday even if not travelling by car)

I went to amazon today to order it and found an offer on amazon -you can also order a leather carry case with it (normally about £11 ) for Free!!

Bargain! I have ordered one and am looking forward to spending a lot less time and petrol being lost :-)

Hope that is useful for anyone else looking for one!

I'd hold off buying a Garmin at the moment unless you know for certain it comes with 2008 maps. If your Garmin comes with version v9maps(released apx. Nov 2006) then you will have to pay approx. £50 to update to the 2008 maps.
In previous years Garmin have released new maps about November and have given a free update if you have recently purchased your satnav(last year anyone who bought after 1st Sept got a free update), but it is not yet clear if they will do that this time!!
  • Just go to amazon and search for Nuvi 250 - it comes right up - nice device
