Does anyone know if you're able to install the TomTom software onto the Medion, my satnav was pinched, but I still have the discs?
If your last machine was a PDA and the Medion is a PDA and they both use the same operating system (e.g. Windows Mobile 2003) then you may be OK - but activating TomTom on the new machine may be a problem.

Someone else may know for sure.

Well after researching this, i am going for the Myguide 3100 - Loads and loads of great reviews, plus it's very small -£90 from ebuyer and i think the google checkout is still on so that knocks it down to £80 + P&P, got to check out cashback sites as well!

I'll report back later on this :)

    I think it's £69.99 at Halfords.

Edit: STOP!! http://www.johnlewis.com/Sport+and+Leisure+/Holiday+Essentials+/GPS+Navigation/GPS+Navigation/400/230402953/Product.aspx have the amazing Navman N40i (I have one and it's fantastic) for £99.99 (it's £200 in Argos). Even better, take the order total to over £100 (I bought 4x AA batteries) and you can apply the Telegraph £20 off £100 code found here:

    http://www.hotukdeals.com/deal/50559/save-20-on-any-purchase-when-you-sp

Go through Quidco for another £5 off. Net price comes to £78. THIS IS AN ABSOLUTE BILLY BARGAIN! Hurry, only 4 left.

Out of sock now :( - excellent post - Thanks

so is the navman N40i better than the myguide 3100? It's a bit bigger which is putting me off a little, but if someone can convince me :)

The N40i is IMHO EASILY the best of the 2. No disrespect to the Myguide, but Navman is a recognised brand and one of the pioneers of SatNav. Plus, this unit has an amazing 'gimmick' - it has an inbuilt digicam. Why, you may ask? Well, say you get to a place (maybe a natural beauty spot) and know you are going to return? All you do is take a pic of the beauty spot and next time you want to go, instead of having to enter all the navigation details, simply click on the pic and it will take you there!! Remember, the John Lewis price at £99.99 is half of the Argos price, but if you can also get the £20 off AND quidco then this is an absolutely UNBEATABLE deal. Keep checking on John Lewis, this is the THIRD time they have put a few back into stock. Get prepared, maybe set up a link to the Navman page (through quidco?) in John Lewis and have the Telegraph code saved in word so you can just copy and paste. These go OOS so quickly!
