I have been scanning this thread so appologies is i have missed this point. But on the LX-Direct Payment Pages.. it notes the following
"Payment by debit or credit card
Please note that when you pay by debit card, your payment will be taken at the time of ordering - not when the goods are delivered.
Alternatively, if you pay by credit card, payment will usually be taken when we expect the goods to be delivered. "
Now I have not ordered off them yet, but is their system automated.. or does the order get passed through for manual entry.
If automated it would mean they take the money once the button is hit.. and therefor
"offer to trade made" +"money taken" = "Contract"
So if paying by Debit card would mean they could not later remove the discounts, as some of you have experienced..
I know some one more clever than me may point out a flaw in this agument ..
but what is it??????The only place where success comes before work is the dictionary…

i had an e-mail saying my order was put through manualy and they confirmed the £20 and p&p off.
i have used my credit card with the codes they took the full amount and then credited the £25 back to my card the same day. ;D
i have placed 2 orders using differnet amount codes but the same p&p and all is ok :-*0 -
hi ya all
can you use say 10% and £10 or is it one of them and free postage if you know what i mean?
also i use a account that when the statement comes through i pay at the bank is this a good way of still keeping the discount?
thanks0 -
Yes, you can use a % off code, a money off code & a free p&p code together, I have & it's worked ok. Ordered a microwave, got it for £15 but it had to go back as it was faulty! My account was credited with the full amount, I gained £15!!
Same thing happened to my other half with a Freeview Box, that was faulty, sent it back & got full price refund!FAIRTRADE NOT FREE TRADE

Anyone received any goods by using these codes recently?
Ordered a phone last night and it accepted the £20 discount
I received a Order Acknowledgment email that said "You will shortly be receiving an e-mail confirming the availability and the delivery period of your order."
However that e-mail has yet to arrive
Hpw long does it normally take for confirmation and delivery notification?0 -
Right guys this is how it works.
I used the ZG3772 £20 disount voucher to order a Nokia 3100 last night (14th nov)
On the website it said my order had been accepted but I had not received a despatch e-mail so I rang them.
Basically the lady told me that it would be there tomorrow........I asked how much was the order for as I could not access my PC (ahem!)
She said it was for a Nokia 3100 at £49.99 plus £2.95 postage and that I also had a £20 discount voucher which would be debited back to my account AFTER the 14 day moneyback gaurantee period was over.
So basically once the 14 day period is over it shows you still want the item and they give you your discount back.
Nokia 3100 for £29.99

Yup - don't expect the discount to show on the receipt you get with your parcel. The discount is credited to your card after around 10 days.
This worried me tonnes after my first order but it worked out - so don't panic! They do apply the discounts."To be ignorant of one's ignorance is the malady of the ignorant." Amos Bronson Alcott0 -
so what happens when you pay on flexi account????
thanks0 -
I'm assuming you mean Nationwide?
It's the same as all other bank accounts.....the discount will go back in after 14 days0 -
hi ya RTM
no when you make a order they send you the order then a statement then you go pay at the bank/post office
