does anyone know where/who/which company/magazine/organisation the 15% code XX867 was issued to?

It always helps if queried, you can say "well I'm entitled to the code I got from xxxxx)

    hey rushnowt well done.
i too have ordered something from them using the same codes as you did and it appeared to have gone through,on confirmation it said the reduced price as i expected it to be so i confirmed. The next day i got an email saying i had been charged a lot higher price than they stated on confirmation for the item.Is this what happened to you?
I have emailed them saying that there must be a mistake but am yet to learn what the outcome will be,so im curious as to what you said to get them to back down.
they only discounted the 15% code on my order too.

    Thanks for the info, :)

Update, Success, lx direct have bowed to my argument and sent me an email, loads of speel but this is the best bit: On this occassion we have taken the decision to honor the codes for the goods purchased, and a credit of £12.95 will be applied to your account.

    consumer 1 - lx direct 0 ;)

You must have been very lucky :) Many people have spent hours on the phone to no avail. The terms and conditions for the codes clearly state that only one is to be used per order so there's no reason either financially or legally for them to let anyone combine the codes.

    Hi,

What happened to me was that I got the confirmation email with the higher prices stated and without the £12.95 discount although it exepted it when i placed the order, so i immediately contacted them and told them to cancel the order if they would not apply the discount, I recived an email back saying that it was too late to cancel the order and to ring them to arrange a return when I recieved the goods and not to give them back to the driver to return.

I was angry that they were making me exept the delivery on top of everything else so I stood my ground and went into email battle with them, Ive contacted them by phone other times and i know what a waste of time it is.

    Thank you all :)

I used to work for Index so I was aware that they do have the ability to over rule these decisions, but rather then going into all these details and making them think i was teaching them how to do their jobs, this is part of the email i sent them instead :

    Dear Sir or Madam.

It clearly states that the 15% discount can be used with the £12.95 discount code, you may also like to check on www.pricedash.com, where this offer is also available, regardless of the fact that you have gone against this offer, you have chosen to use the 15% off code rather than the £12.95 code which obviously is a financial advantage to you and not me.

I'm sure you can understand that I am clearly unhappy about this and under the circumstances I will not be using you to purchase goods again.

I contacted you soon enough to cancel this order in my opinion, since I emailed you about this the minute I had received the confirmation email from you stating the price above what I was expecting to pay, I do not see how the order could have been picked by this time and feel that there was definately enough time to cancel this order.

My email from you stated that I would receive these goods by today 22nd Feb, it is now 16.08 and no goods has of yet have been received, will you once again fail in your duties to provide the service that you state.

It is may personal opinion that you choose not to cancel the order so that my credit card could be charged, thus I would then have to wait several days for this credit to be applied back to my account, leaving you with my money in your companies account.

It must have hit a nerve for them to have bowed so quickly LOL.

I agree with what your saying, however they hardly ever have a problem excepting two codes they exepted the 15% off and free P&P without question, it only bothered me that the choose to take off 15% rather than the £12.95 although i had imput the £12.95 code first, it was financially better for them to do it this way so I complained about it, I would have been just as happy had they deducted the £12.95 and not 15%, but it was a matter of principle so I fought my corner. I didnt really expect to get any more than that but to have all three codes applied is even better :D

just to digress a bit, LX Direct accepted the codes fine but the item is a bulky item that I wanted delivered to a different address. There does not appear to be a facility to do this unless I have missed it. anyone able to assist?

    Hiya Chris

did you pay for the order by credit or debit card or open an account, if the latter you cant have your first order delivered to a different address that facility is only allowed once you are accepted as a customer, if however you paid by card, then all you need to do is input the delivery address instead of your own address.

    HTH :)
