    Morning folks!

Drumming thing was very enjoyable last night. Except that I have donked my thumb on the edge of the drum too much and it's rather bruised

Also my fingers have swelled up a bit and I can't get my wedding ring back on yet! They will go down again soon. It often happens after the gym too.

My appraisal was ok thanks :)

    Today's mission:
    • B/L/D from stores - done
    • Charge phone in work - done
    • Knit sock - done
    • No alcohol - done
    • Probably go to gym at lunchtime - done, but I seem to have a twinge in my butt :(
    • Book hair cut (I currently have a Beatles mop top!) - done
    • Enter local radio comp to win £5000. You are supposed to text (costs £2) but you can enter online for free :money: - done
    • Have a think about what gardening I want to do over the Easter weekend
    • Sort meal plan
    • Reconcile budget sheet as Friday is a bank hol. Perhaps I will be paid on Thursday??
    Have a good one all

Good fix, Dawn. This is more common in hardwater areas, I think. If memory serves me correctly when your fridge is working you may notice ice building up on the back wall of the fridge. This condensates and runs into the drain hole and then along a pipe. The pipe leads to a container on the fridge motor. The heat from the motor wams the water which evaporates away. If the hole inside your fridge gets blocked this cycle stops and the water overflows. If you are in a hardwater area you might want to descale the hole to lessen the liklihood of that happening again. Lemon, white vinegar or citric acid should do it.

I have an old fridge and this happens - paid for an engineer call out once and he showed me how to help it by using a plastic straw! locate the back of the fridge and the drain and twist the straw into it as this will grab any gunk blocking the fridge - I do it about twice a year now.

I am moving house so hoping to buy a new fridge!

I love this thread and check in every day - things have been a bit crazy recently so have been unable to post!

My fridge freezer (a Hotpoint) actually came with a little plastic poker thingy to fit the hole, so I was able to work out what was going on, despite there being nothing about it in the instructions. I ought to check it more often really, then wouldn't get the nasty surprise of a pool of freezing water to contend with under the veg drawers!

Ally, I hope timbuktu was ok today!

It wasn't too bad, thanks. Left home at 7am and got back at 3pm and I'm now not needed at my usual workplace tonight between 7pm and 7.30pm so I can relax until tomorrow. Fortunately, I'm at my usual workplace tomorrow and then it's the "weekend". :)

    Hi March Money Magicians,

Just back from Timbuktu and I'm putting my feet up.

    Debt-Free-Nillionaire Continuity Plan Year Three:

    * Work very hard on my own mental health issues. Do Holistrio App.

    * Check online banking and broadband usage.

    * Turned off alarm clock until tonight, it resets itself automatically.

    * Took a packed lunch to work. Didn't go to sandwich shop next door.

    * Cleared emails.

    * Emailed local RSPB reserve about a discount for DW when we next go.

    * Pay Day! :j Move money around.

    * DW has repaid me the £72 I'm owed.

    * Donated to the HungerSite for free. Had forgotten about this site....you just go into the website and click on Click To Give. You can only click once a day. Everytime you click a small coin is donated to a hunger charity by one of many US companies and that's it. No need to sign up. This is a legit site, with a long pedigree. You can also click to give to a range of other causes. The site has given more than $50 million to charities around the world since 1999.

    * Wash manky slippers in machine rather than binning them. Hopefully this will rescue them. Yup!

    * DW has her last NHS dental appointment tomorrow. Luckily they decided some sort of fancy major deep clean was needed to treat a sore tooth rather than filling.

    * Made two homemade smoothies. 25p each! I'm going to use the smoothie maker to make sorbet at the weekend.

To live without risk is to risk not living.

    Handy Hint

Just noticed something useful(?) in the settings for this Forum.

You can get this thread to display messages with the most recent first, instead of last. So that when you come into the thread you don't have to go fishing around in page 3 or 4 to find the latest message.

    Click on Quick Links
    Click on Edit Options
Under Thread Display Mode choose Linear Newest First
    Click Save Changes

Now the most recent message will always be at the top of page 1.

Poker thingies can be bought online. (Link) Or one could improvise one with a straw, as WorkingMum has already said or use an old-fashioned pipe cleaner, found in craft shops or tobacconists.

    Hello Pence Wranglers,
Useful sort of day. My Big Budget Day so lots of it spent at my big vintage desk up in my HQ:
*Reconciled March budget. No nasty surprises.
    *Set April's budget.
*Started a new grocery budget tracker sheet for April in my bullet diary.
*Paid credit card off in full.
*Updated monthly outgoings spreadsheet with new amounts (all bloody increases!)
*Read energy meters & uoloaded onto website.
*Started hardening off chilli seedlings ready for potting up.
*Watered greenhouse seedlings. Most trays are up now.
*Took recycled plastic fish box down to greenhouse to use as a big free seed tray ir shuttle tray.
*Checked exactly how much we still owe on the modest loan we took out to help us buy our car. Lower than we thought.
*Checked exactly how much we have in our WTSHTF fund, as we did have to use £500 from it last year. It's ok as long as a) We keep adding to it b) No S actually does HTF just yet.
*Fed sourdough jar ready to mix a loaf up tomorrow.
*Baked a batch of sourdough crackers using the 'discard' portion of culture.
*Spicy Chinese style pirk rice tonight - the rubber pork strikes again!
*Did 3 surveys. I only need 25p to cash out on YouGov.
*Forwarded my Prolific Academic referral code to mr f as I will get a small bonus when he cashes out. PA has interesting surveys - v wide ranging & I like that I am helping academic research rather than the sales pitch for some new unnecessary branded product I will never buy.
*Knit more little blanket squares - 7 more to go!
*Gathered twiggy branch from garden & have decorated my Easter tree - all decs are years old & all ribbons from my recycled wrappings stash.
    *Made tomorrow's packed lunch.
*Wrote tomorrow's baking schedule as I have quite a lot to make for family buffet at the weekend plus gifts.
*Upstairs heating all turned down a little more & am aiming to turn it off as soon as April arrives.
    *Entered a prize draw.
*Almost bought £4 of raffle tickets then decided odds of winning were just too tiny & although it wss for a charity, I decided £4 of toiletries for local food bank would be a better use of the money.
Looking forward to my Easter baking day tomorrow.
Have a nice peaceful evening all,
    F x
