What small DFW things will you do w/c 26th March?

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free.

Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.

So be proud of those small steps, they really are important :money:

    Morning all :hello: yet another unnecessary early start on what is one of the busiest days of my work year! Today will mostly be powered by coffee :eek:

    Need to keep the faith as it's 3 days to payday and there's lots of juggling with work to be done on the house and the smalls here there and everywhere as they are off School and I can't have anytime of this week. So today I will be:
    Taking one for the team and eating the last croissant for breakfast to avoid arguments :rotfl:
    Made coffee for commute with morning one
    Hm chicken noodle soup from freezer for lunch
    Check banking, need to move some fuel money from fuel pot
    Get some chicken out of freezer for tea, use left overs from roast to go with it for DH. I'll just have veggies to get eating back on track
    Check for an email and send to work computer so I can print
    Quick tidy round and put DW on before I leave for work
    Do some research on long term investments tonight, quite taken by some that may pay a dividend as we go too for a tiny amount of passive income

    Have a good day everyone. Purps.

    Morning folks

    Ziggy - what a horrible start to the morning! Please make sure you let the police know on 101 though - they will probably increase presence in the area for a bit :)

    Lovely and sunny here but I'm in work - boo!

    Excellent work on the sock last night. Picked up all the gusset stitches ok, although one side seems to have a gap. Perhaps I had an extra row or something (I did have to unpick some of it). Nothing that I couldn't sew up on a real sock though. The other side looks awesome and neat :) I'm now decreasing along the gusset towards the foot.

    Today's mission:
    • B/L/D from stores
    • Appraisal today! My manager just announced it to me :rotfl:
    • Charge phone in work - done
    • Gym at lunch time - done
    • Heating off
    • Knitting!
    • No alcohol
    Not much today but might add more

    Have a good one all

    Morning guys :) Thanks for starting us off Purps. And well done on the team efforts :D

    Morning ziggy - that sounds shocking! Poor man, must be getting him down x

    I've taken the day off of work as have had a dodgy tummy over the weekend. Feeling like I want to go to town and get some material for some sewing projects I want to do. Hmmmmm working out if it's too much of a pee take....

    Things for today:

    * photo and send picture a receipt to get refund
    * write things I want to buy in my diary and sit on for a few days before deciding. Did this at the weekend as wanted to tool to attach snaps to sanitary towels and decided I'll use sew on ones instead ;)
    * all meals from stores
    * knitting, sewing, sowing seeds :D
    * listen to audio book
    * finish off meal plan & shopping list
    * check onepoll - dull dull dull!
    * photo things for fleabay
    * might go to the allotment for an hour - got loads done yesterday in 1.5 hours. Was planning to go tomorrow but weather doesn't look good...
    * soak beans
    * looked into holiday for August when madam's CM is closed. We are going to go to Bristol and stay in a airBNB for 2 nights then drive down to Devon and camp for 4 days :D

    Ok that's all I can think of

    Hi March Money Magicians,

    Work was :mad: last night and will be the same again tonight, I think. Oh well. Suck it up Buttercup. It pays the bills.

    Debt-Free-Nillionaire Continuity Plan Year Three:

    * Work very hard on my own mental health issues. Do Holistrio App.

    * Check online banking and broadband usage.

    * Turned off alarm clock until tonight, it resets itself automatically.

    * Packed lunch to work.

    * Homemade smoothie.

    * Found out about getting DW a discounted leisure centre pass. £6.50 per year gives her half price swimming/sauna-ing.

    To live without risk is to risk not living.

    Awwww - sorry work was cr*p last night, Ally.
    And not a good night for Ziggy either, what a bare-faced cheek these people have thinking it is fine to go around helping themselves to other people's stuff & livelihood.

    Onto the list......
    Good Morning Daffodils,
    Most of this morning spend at my desk preparing for the THREE meetings I have to attend tomorrow. At least I feel more up to speed on everything now & will be putting the kettle on for a break this afternoon.
    *Pegged out 2 loads of laundry. It's clouded up quite a bit now but is still dry, so I didn't want to pass up an opportunity to dry everything for free.
    *Rubber Pork duties & am pleased with the s-t-r-e-t-c-h factor I achieved. It did a substantial roast dinner yesterday, I've divvied the leftovers up for hot roast pork cobs with apple sauce for tonight's meal & spicy Chinese rice on Weds. I've also done a big tray of slices in gravy for the freezer for a 'free' Sunday roast another week plus I prepped & froze enough to make a Madhur Jaffrey curry recipe for leftover meat which we both like. Lastly, all the remaining meat went in a freezer container with leftover gravy & veg to form the basis of mr f's next Epic Man Stew.
    *Am being tough with cat today. He didn't eat last night's dinner as it wasn't the brand he wanted, so we've served it up again for today's breakfast.
    *Entered a prize draw.
    *Did 3 Prolific Academic surveys & a couple of Onepoll.
    *Checked OLB for a very slow visa debit transaction to appear. Still no sign, but I may have sussed it.
    *Prep tomorrow's work snacks.
    *Divide up fish order, label & freeze when it arrives later this afternoon.
    *Decide whether I want to sell my mini-portable DAB - it's a 'Pure', so someone may want one, just making sure I defo want to sell. As part of the ongoing declutteration, I'm thinking about what gadgets I actually use. Have given my old tablet to mr f. He smashed his on the kitchen quarry tiles & has been weighing up doing without against buying a new one, when it occurred to me that mine just sits on the bookcase gathering dust.
    *Knit more little squares for my sofa throw. I've knitted up so many balls/scraps of yarn from my stash that I can get the lid on now!!
    Ooooh, fish man is just pulling van up outside - must dash.

    I was reminded of catfood today. DW served up some sort of "tinned meat" when I awoke. :rotfl: I don't know what it was but I think it may once have had a collar and lead.

    :rotfl:

    This reminds me of an amusing story. Years ago, hubby went out on a boozy night out with the lads. I woke up when he came into the house, then nodded back off for a bit.
    I woke up about half an hour later, and realised that he hadn't come to bed, so I went to check on him.
    I found him stretched out on the sofa, like a Roman at a banquet, stark naked, eating an entire block of Spam, which he proceeded to gleefully present to me :rotfl:

    I just told him not to make a mess and to come to bed when he was done hahahaha
