    HM leek and potato soup for lunch Done, loads left for another meal :)
    Jacket potatoes, HM coleslaw, grated cheese, salad etc for dinner Done, OH made egg mayonnaise as well to use up some of egg mountain. Lots of everything left!
    Make a cake, as I have lots of eggs and 2 shrivelled lemons - sounds like lemon drizzle cake! Done :D
    Light stove later to dry washing off (it is the massive pile I brought back from my bro's yesterday) Done, will be dry by morning and I can put the bloomin airer away!
    Kettle on stove for free boiling water / tea :DAnd free hot washing up water :)
    Do hip exercises, great relief to know that I don't need a hip replacement :eek: but it still hurts and makes me walk funny :oMust do again

    Evening all!

    It was another late start for me again today but due to another productive nights work.

    I popped to the post office to send back a dress I bought on eBay, the seller has paid the postage but I needed to get POP. The dress was advertised as a size 16 and indeed the label affirmed that it was once a size 16 but had clearly shrunk in the wash to the point that the bust measurement was equivalent to a size 10 on that brands size chart.

    While at the post office I popped next door to the mid-sized Mr T for scale remover (I will try the cola next time, CLF!), sponges, vegetarian sausages and cat food and came out with just that, must be a first! The veggie sausages were more expensive than the meat ones but I will use a little less (they are to go in stuffing), I am making a conscious effort to stop eating pork after a horrible thing I half saw on FB.

    Lunch was a jacket potato with some of the cheapie cheese I bought at the craft fair and some coleslaw. DS has taken himself off to bed early so I have postponed tonight's roast dinner and had soup and the last of the bread for dinner.

    I've sent off my budget cards to the printer, totally forgot it's good Friday tomorrow so they won't be doing anything with them for four days but at least I feel like I've done something.

    I also emailed a magazine that was looking for a freelancer for three weeks but the email came through two days ago so I've probably missed it. I don't really want to do more than a week a month but they are based in the most convenient location for me (walking distance of the train station so no tube ride), hopefully they might come back with something else in the future.

    Tonight I plan to *finally* get around to swapping the TVs around, bet I don't :D
    Make £25 a day in April £0/£750 (March £584, February £602, January £883.66)

    Hi Thursday Frugalistas,
    Well I'm pleased to say the ample Foxgloves backside has finally made contact with the sofa!! Busy day & some money saving bits:
    *Baked individual pork pies to take to family buffet. Much more affordable to have a lovely buffet we all contribute to, rather than going out for a meal. Shall only need to add the jelly to them tomorrow.
    *Leftover pork mince from the above, so left tonight's meal in the freezer & made spaghetti & meatballs instead.
    *Baked simnel cake. Also for buffet.
    *Made fudge & chocolate nut clusters for Easter gifts.
    *Did next week's meal plans.
    *Wrote shopping list.
    *Baked sourdough loaf.
    *Raided my recycled wrappings stash for boxes, ribbons & labels for wrapping my home made gifts tomorrow.
    I seem to be on the cusp of another lergy. Not impressed. And now mr f has put 1985 Top of the Pops on, so I'm revisiting my youth!
    Night all,
    F xx

    Scale remover is essentially just a strong acid since acid dissolves calcium carbonate. Scientifically speaking, all of the following will descale, though some are going to be easier to use than others!

    Vinegar
    Lemon juice
    Lime juice
    Kiwi fruit
    Cola (or any fizzy drink that will damage your teeth!)
    Orange juice
    Tomato ketchup (surprisingly acidic)

    Interestingly Oust Descaler contains lactic acid, the stuff that builds up in your muscles and makes them 'burn'. (No human legs were used in the manufacture of the product.) :rotfl:

    Or ask at your local hardware store for citric acid.

  • Moorning :D eurgh feeling rough! Drank a bottle of Chateau Migran last night with a friend and not feeling so hot right now...

    Yay to the long weekend :j I predict lots of relaxation and fun times :T

    Today:

    * Go and have a bath, drink a ton of (free) water and hopefully feel more chipper in a couple of hours!
    * B/L/D from stores
    * load of washing
    * put away several loads of washing - I let it get away from me :eek:
    * knitting
    * iron some fabric so I can cut strips for my quilt. I found another strip of fabric that had been knocking around for years that will go nicely :money:
    * I might do some sewing later - depends on how I feel when madam goes to bed
    * speak to oh and do some budget friendly activity today :money:
    * do something with a bag of ys parsnips
    * eat delish grapes that are going to run away if we don''t start eating them

    Ok that's my lot. Hope you all have a lovely day :D

    Morning all :hello:

    Work very busy this week, so I'm now grateful for 5 days off and some down/quality time with loved ones. Yesterday was payday but braided too fogged when I got home to do money shuffle, done this morning instead :D other things:

    Fed sourdough, so I can bake later
    Check fridge and eat leftovers today, check if anything needs eating. Plan tonight's meal based on what's needs using
    Make something for picnic tomorrow
    DH and I to gym
    Take mine and DH car to get tyres replaced. Work pay for mine, we have a decent car piggy for DH
    Pick up an egg for my dad :D have a voucher for shop I've already bought at a discount
    Do some washing/tidying/spring cleaning round the house
    Hopefully do some labelling for next weeks sale
    Do a job that I volunteered for, for a charity

    Have a good day everyone. Purps.

    Morning all :)
    Raining again, though at least it doesn't seem to be quite as cold as yesterday :)Rained hard all day - again - and more forecast for tomorrow :(
    Today's plans:
    Washed hair and allowing to dry naturally Done
    Eat another going-brown banana for breakfast Done
    Fold up washing on airer and put ready for brother to collect Done, he came in to collect, had lunch with us. He seems happy enough - invited him for dinner on Sunday night :)
    Do exercises (boring, but they do help) Need to do the 'standing up' ones again. They will coincide with the washing up!
    Start a shopping list - will probably go tomorrow Still to do
    Plenty of food in for today's meals, need to put lamb shanks from freezer into slow cooker with veg etc in a minute, so they can bubble away all day and be ready for dinner :)Done, DD2 appeared this afternoon with both kids, a bit worried she is tearing about too much. Little GS has a chest infection. He is only 4 months old :( Having said, that although he has antibiotics from the doctor and a nasty rattly cough, he was very happy and smiley :) And GD had fallen asleep in the car (only a 15 minute journey) probably because she was up for a good part of the night :( Anyway, they stayed for dinner, which ended up being a rushed affair. Hoping it is just the rotten weather and lack of sleep affecting DD, and not PND. She just can't seem to relax, despite being really tired, and won't stay at home - she was out with a friend last night, out again this morning / lunchtime with another friend and here this afternoon :eek: Families! Aren't they a worry? Not sure how best to help her :(
    Check banks and update spreadsheet Done
    Check for surveys Not done
    Not intending any spending today :)Nothing spent, too horrible to go out, though I must make the effort tomorrow!
    Not sure what else - will be back to update later :)

    Hi March Money Magicians,

    5 days off now! <And r.e.l.a.x.>

    Debt-Free-Nillionaire Continuity Plan Year Three:

    * Work very hard on my own mental health issues. Do Holistrio App.

    * Check online banking and broadband usage.

    * Turned off alarm clock until tonight, it resets itself automatically.

    * Clear emails.
    Confirmed: local RSPB reserve will give DW a £1 discount in future. :)

    * DW had her last NHS dental appointment yesterday.
    As I thought the receptionist can't add up. We were nearly over-charged £40!

    * Browsed charity shops. Bought nothing.

    * Got £5 from Morrisons More Card. :) Nothing much in the YS section.

    * Watch DVDs we already own this afternoon.

    * Picked up prescription. Did not lose temper with 12-year-old pharmacy assistant who told me that my old prescription was for 2 x 50mg pills and my new prescription is for 1 x 100mg pill but that I "mustn't worry" because that's the same dose, having already had a call from my GP's receptionist to tell me the same and a note on my Prescription ordering App. :wall:

    * Make a note to go through my trousers and see what fits me. When we moved I got rid of 75% of my clothes, sold them by weight, leaving me with just a few items which did fit 6 months ago. May need to buy one or two pairs from the charity shop.

    * Use foot pack DW brought me for Decemberfest.

    * My armchair squeaks as it swivels. Lubricated the squeaky bit with Furniture Polish spray since it contains silicone which is a lubricant. Smells nicer than WD40. Also de-gunked the spray nozzle before DW pronounces it "broken" and bins it.

    * The slipper I machine washed the other day have dried come up like new.

    * Stopped DW buying something in Superdrug that we already have two of in the bathroom.

    * Read library books.

    To live without risk is to risk not living.
