Looks like Tesco are still offering 25 free points when you tell them about your most recent visit. You need to keep hold of your receipt and use a code on there to take part at Tesco Views. Plus there's a £1,000 gift card monthly prize draw.Debt-free day: 8th May 2015 "Remember that sometimes not getting what you want is a wonderful stroke of luck," Dalai Llama0 -
Went to my brother's flat to wait in for meter changing people - he is having card /key meters put in, which are more expensive, but his idea, and will prevent him being able to get into debt, by that route at least! All done now. Took my vacuum cleaner and some other cleaning supplies with me, but it really wasn't bad
Had to open all the windows due to the tobacco smell :eek:, changed the bed, ran the hoover round, cleaned the sink, brought washing back with me as he hasn't got a washing machine yet. But he does seem to be putting the effort in, so I don't mind helping
Apart from that:
Called into Aldi on the way back to pick up their 19p super six veg
Lost another NSD, but I wasn't missing a bargain like that!
Received £8 of shopping vouchers from RM surveys for participating in their Correctly Delivered survey
Made 'pizzas' for lunch, with some stale HM bread, some squishy tomatoes, a bit of chopped chorizo and some grated cheese
Did 2 loads of washing, put one lot on airer due to horrible weather today. Might try to put the rest out tomorrow
Steak from freezer for dinner, much to OH's delight
Had good news re my hip pain, someone from the surgery phoned to say that I don't have a serious arthritis problem :T There is no indication on the xray of any serious issue, but it could be a tendon or cartilage thing, Dr said to follow up on the physio referral and only need to go back if it doesn't improve after that
I will keep doing the exercises I found on the internet till I get to see the physio (which will be a while I suspect), but it is such a huge relief to not be looking at surgery :T 0 -
DNMS, yes, if you message me your address I will drop them in the post to you!
Dawn, I'm with you on the cigarette smoke, it's foul. My DS smokes in his room, with the door closed, but I can still smell it going up the stairs. In fact the whole house stinks of it at the moment because he cleaned his room which, while ostensibly a *good* thing means that I have about six loads of stinky washing and the bedsheets waiting to be washed :eek: This is on top of (I kid you not) SIX bin liners of rubbish and stacks of plates with festering leftovers on to go in the dishwasher.
I got up very late today as worked all night then popped to the post box first thing before going to bed. I collected a couple of fish I have rehomed for someone whose pump had broken and was worried they'd die, they're very pretty.
I've cleaned the bathroom top to bottom including washing the floor with *proper* floor cleaner instead of the surface cleaner I usually use which leaves a white residue. I really need to buy some descaler for the loo (horrible hard water area) but I gave it a good scrub anyway and it looks a bit better than it did.
I've done some more work on my cheapie multi pack cards, they are almost ready to go off to the printer. The mega fancy ones are nowhere near ready as the whole process is proving troublesome.
My mum felt sorry for me as my shoes were so tatty (not helped by me wearing them to spread gravel) and gave me money for a new pair. They are very similar flat, black Mary Janes (I think that's what they're called) from Cl@rkes. I think that makes me officially an old person now but the last ones were sooooo comfy and I remember my step-daughter's tutor insisting they all buy their pumps from there (part of their uniform) because she didn't want to be in a classroom with scores of girls wearing smelly, cheap pumps! They were however 20% off and the last ones lasted me at least three years (and I will keep the old ones for gardening as there's still plenty of life them.)
I'm off to bake some cheese scones, I've volunteered to make some for a fundraiser for the doggy charity but I don't think this batch will last that long

Morning
Yippee day off again :j Not back at work until Monday now
Want to make my day off count as it'll be the last child/work free day I'll have for a couple of weeks...
* checked banking - received £6.96 interest
I've been saving my interest from bank accounts toward xmas food. We now have £50 in the pot :money:
* Still obsessively looking for fabric for quilt. Trying to wait until the weekend and go to a bootfair....
* Going out for lunchtime date with oh
* make some reusable cloth wipes
* sow some seeds
* check onepoll
* knitting - I finished the instep last night so now just the foot and then toe and I'm done
* lo pasta for dinner tonight
* text allotment friend re meeting up this evening for a planning (and wine) session
* might go to the allotment for an hour. The ground is a little wet so not sure if it'll be worth it...
* make the mortgage op. Haven't figured out how to do it yet!
* checked on Lid1 weekend offers and coffee is on offer so I will be stocking up
The last lot lasted me 3 months maybe I'll get a few more as have had to buy a couple of bags at full price :eek:
Ok that'll do. Have a great day guys

Hi March Money Magicians,
"Kindly" awoken by a text from my Boss an hour before I was going to wake up. Words will be had. :mad: On the positive side he was calling to ask me to work a slightly better shift today supervising only one lot of staff not two and finishing at 5pm not 8pm so I've won there.
Debt-Free-Nillionaire Continuity Plan Year Three:
* Work very hard on my own mental health issues. Do Holistrio App.
* Check online banking and broadband usage.
* Turned off alarm clock until tonight, it resets itself automatically.
* Take a packed lunch to work.
* Clear emails.
* DW has her last NHS dental appointment this morning. Ask for an itemised receipt. When we went in to pay a couple of weeks ago the receptionst took ages to decide how much it was. I'm sure the receptionist can't add up.
* Charge phone at work.
* Clean bathroom with Stardrops and washable cloths.
* Read news online instead of buying a paper.

Have been reading along where I can RL has been getting in the way again.
DD home, so great to have her home. Had my mother's day presents including a scratch card which I won £20 on.
Work has been manic, year ends, paperwork being sorted and a friend stayed over for 2 nights. On a positive note, we had a freezer dive last night, some random bits and pieces used up and I now have freezer space.
Need to pop out this morning to get some cat food and other bits to last over Easter. I had the slow cooker going like a mad thing from Monday onwards so there were/are also plenty of snack meals for DD and myself plus friend was well fed.
Banking all checked and everything good. Really proud at how well things are ticking over.
Friend was shocked how I log everything down with all spends, Christmas and birthdays aswell. He has given me the challenge to spend just £500 on Christmas presents this year.......challenge accepted!!
DawnW I'm glad to hear it is not bad news about the hip but a nuisance that you have to wait for physio. My brother did the same when he hurt his shoulder, he got onto the internet and worked on exercises everyday as he just couldn't cope with the painkillers his GP gave him.
RM survey item to post. I'm supposed to be finishing my current stint but they are still sending me through items to post. Have finally updated and caught up with the new platform they have launched. Had a phone call from them asking why I hadn't updated, my response was that I was one of the ones where technology went wrong and I didn't get any log in information for the new portal which I had to chase them for.
2 eBay items finishing tomorrow night, both have bids on so very happy.
Will be a day of small spends, minimal housework and putting my feet up!!!
Have a great day everyone!Decluttering challenge 2023🏅⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Morning folks!
FatVonD - lots of people swear by cheap coca cola down the lav on a regular basis for the limescale. Try a search on the OS forum for the thread.
Dawn - good news on the hip
Happy Easter springtime hugs for everyone else
I am off for Easter! Wooooo! Due to the type of work I do, I normally have to work straight through Easter on my own (I used to be the only person in the company who could do a particular task). This year I put my foot done and they have got a freelancer to cover the whole 5 days
:T
The list is going to be a bit of a rolling one over the weekend:- B/D from stores. Meeting friends for lunch today
- Dye hair at home
- Reconciled end of month budget sheet. Shockingly we were left with £100 despite some last minute expenditure and our little jaunt away! - done
- Wait for OH to get home to set this month's budget
- Due to all the little body niggles this week, have asked OH for a full body massage "from the book" (we have a proper massage book) instead of trotting off to the physio
- Do meal plan and shop
- Fix the thumb on my glove - done
- Got rid of some old out of date bills while filing new Council tax bill - done
- Make use of Bulk Powders offer today to stock up on peanut butter

- Wash on and tidy round
- My proper sock needles have arrived so start knitting a proper sock, Damn the wool is tiny! I started last night but was doing a k2p2 rib and seemed to get out of sync. I couldn't tell where and was only 3 rows in so I frogged the lot and thought I'd try in better light and less tired.
- Get sowing some seeds. I'm really glad that I held off this year until all the frost passed. Also, in other years, we've had a warm Feb and the blossoms have come out too early then not fruited. This year I don't have any blossom yet so I'm hoping for a bumper cherry harvest!
Love and hugs to all
