It's been a fairly productive morning. En suite thoroughly cleaned, and floor washed, ditto downstairs loo. Bedroom dusted and vaccumed, including 2 earrings by accident. Obviously not a pair, so now I have one left of each set, having spent a while with my fingers in the dust and debris trying to find them. Landing and hall floors done and hallway mopped of builder footprints. They did try to keep it clean, bless. Kitchen floor given a quick sweep and mop. Shopping list written so I'm now bracing myself for that chore.

2 calls made, both of which I had been dreading. One seems to have sorted out a refund that I was waiting for, and the other went to answerphone again. I've left 2 messages, so now I need to stop thinking about it.

Flying is now pretty much suspended, or at least only on a "do it if it's in truly desperate need to be done" basis til 10th April. :D

The Cavapoos have arrived, and have pretty much taken over the bungalow. They have a box of toys that would make Pigpen's small Pinks jealous; and it looks like Indi is going to spend his entire holiday glued to my side. :o We had soggy walkies earlier; fun and games getting the dogs kitted up to go (they have harnesses to wear); more fun and games getting the harnesses off when we got back, and great hilarity with towels trying to get them dry.

They are lovely dogs; very affectionate, and I think they're going to be great fun.

Well done to Rosie on getting her silver award.

  • Happy and sad today.

Colleague's last day at work - happy that they are leaving a job they really didn't like, but sad I'm 'losing' the one person in the entire place who got all my cultural references, gallows humour and I could talk utter nonsense for hours with - I'm not used to completely clicking with somebody I work with (or many people, tbh) and it made a massive difference to the daily grind. However, that pales in comparison to their spouse being diagnosed with cancer this week - just as their job security ends. There are young children involved as well. :( Going to meet up in a couple of weeks for a beer and hopefully that will give them a chance to let off steam if wanted - or just do something 'normal' rather than illness related.

However, I had a bunch of 11 year olds all frantically scrambling to impress me with a performance of a song they'd been learning and when I mentioned to the staff member that they seemed [strike] uncharacteristically[/strike] eager to please, he told me that, for some reason that was completely lost to him, I have 'acquired God-like status in the eyes of Year 7'. All I've done is rolled into their lesson each week [strike]because it's more interesting than working for an hour[/strike] and 'supported' the teaching going on.

Himself has finally started cooking tonight - I've only scarfed two lumps of bread and cheese since I got home - and I'm only on my second cup of tea. But I think he's vacuumed again. And the kitchen was usable - crumby, but usable.

Why did it have to take a superdupermegaexpensive vacuum cleaner to have this happen?
I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.

    Morning all,

Been awake for hours, suspect I will flag later! It’s a bright frosty day here, will get some washing on shortly. Aims for today are simple - get 10 things on eBay, walk 20,000 steps and have a nap :rotfl:

    Have lovely days all x

Ashamed to say no flying done here, OH is away and I have done nothing! Gave myself a serious talking to last night and so this morning emptied the DW (put on Sunday night) and put it on a clean cycle as I had found one packet of cleaner lying around.

Off to bank in a few minutes and will then pop to the shops to pick up a few bits I need for Friday nights dinner. We're heading straight down to our holiday place as soon as he gets back from his travels and meeting friends there so am taking dinner with us.

ATB how do manage to get to 20,000 steps? I am so impressed. I can get to 10 - 15,000 at the weekend if we go for a nice walk but during the week only get to around 8,000 and that includes parking the car a bit further away and having a job that is not that sedentary (teach/afterschool club). My biggest problem is at home I'm lazy!

Slinky challenge is at last going in the right direction, one advantage of OH travelling is it is easy for me to stick to low carb and it works well for me, he's been away the last 2 weeks and I am now over 2 kgs down overall so feeling a bit more motivated to keep at it. Have stopped drinking except for 'occasions', it's been 3 weeks and I only had drinks on one Saturday (aperitif and wine with dinner, was fine to go back to tea after dinner). There will be alcohol and plenty of it this weekend as catching up with very good friends but hope to get out and about too although could be walking in the rain.

Hugs to those that need or want.
    going to put WM on

    See you later.

Morning all. I've already made a start too, by sending a couple of emails. Yesterday was a bit of a wash-out, in more ways than one! so I need to shift myself today.

    The plan is therefore to:
    - check finances
    - send 2 birthday e-cards
    - breakfast, shower and dress
    - take DH to surgery for ECG and GP appointment
    - do food shopping on the way home, making sure I've got enough fruit in the house for DH to make a fruit salad!!!
    - phone my depressed friend and arrange to take her out this afternoon
    - phone another friend and fix a date to see her
    - make an appointment for Rosie's 6-monthly vet check
    - finish admin work for church (did quite a lot of this yesterday)
    - clear the rest of the paperwork off the spare bed and top of the filing cabinet and file away properly
    - finalise and submit 2 reports for the church AGM
    - walk and groom Rosie
    - church this evening
    - if it stays dry, do a bit of gardening

If I achieve all that, I shall be pleased.

(((Hugs))) spoons and sticks all round xx

Went to Lancashire yesterday and Fleetwood for the first time since we left our home county. V pleased to get new bedding at the Freeport outlet as have had to throw a single sheet and its pair is looking threadbare.

DW x 1 WM x 3 going on line and s&s/tidying to do as DD and I are off to Devon for the Easter weekend as we have a house share family party planned.

Valli have a lovely time away.

I'm going to visit grand kids, it seems the kids have arranged an Easter egg hunt for me to do, I hope I understand / know what I have to do :) and make it last for the right amount of time, I haven't done such a think for years and years :)
