The daughter is not squeaky clean, but looking back at the OP's previous relationship issues I can definitely understand the daughter's stance here. Can't tell if it's the same man or several, but there's a lengthy history of the OP being manipulated.

Two sides to every story. None of us can judge without hearing the other one too.

Has is not occured to anyone else that this man might have re-appeared when he heard the rent was cheap?

This is why people should get legal advice because a solicitor would well have mentioned consequences of a life-tenancy i.e. she can move in who she want.

Perhaps the daughter has unwittingly made her mother attractive to scroungers. Perhaps she feels he's taking adavantage?

We don't know but I'd hazard a guess there's more to this.

not gone un noticed by me,which is why I have raised the consideration that mum moves out of the property and she and the ex embark on something together away from the daughter.

    and this is the issue
but I have invested all my life savings on the renovations and added to the property value by @ £37.000.

Sounds like the OP doesn't think the new man is worth it.

I now also have another concern , you say you have a friend who is a conveyencing solicitor so can't really help, but why on earth then isn't he /she finding you someone who can?

Your additional comments on the thread have reinforced my view that you are naive and I have serious concerns that more than one party involved is taking advantage of you. All this talk of moving money around, and possibly defrauding the mortgage company, does anyone have something on you that they are using to bully you with?

If you have any money, go find a proper solicitor , ask at local companies to explain what sort of advice you need and get a free or low cost initial consultation. I doubt if anyone on here can give you good hard facts without actually knowing what is really going on.

All the rent stuff went on before the ex appeared on the scene so I don't think the daughter is squeaky clean!

That is completley correct, originally I was to live there 'Rent free' her words.... then her hubby mentioned £150 in a conversation which I immediatley picked up on and questioned, I got a text reply saying if you put the door in we will only charge you £100.
At the time there was nothing else I could do, I was already in the property.
  • There is NOTHING anyone has on me, I am her Mam, she helped me as much as I helped her, her idea, I should have kept my equity and moved into one of her newly refurbished houses and paid the full rent, I would still have £70.000 plus in the bank.

You could have had a face to face conversation and reinforced what was originally agreed.

You could have refused to sign a lease that differed from what you originally agreed.

You could have stopped spending money on something you would never own.

Not sure why I'm bothering, but you never know someone else might read it.

EXACTLY - you were in the property, so actually - at the time there was nothing else SHE could do.

On which note I'm out. The story is too fetched for me

    I'm relieved you're out!
It is not far fetched, it is the honest truth and I hoped for a bit of advice and help, I thank the people who have been decent and not disrespectful. Please don't bother, I can do without your attitude.
