Hmmm things very up and down at the moment.
On the negative side: hubbies company made another 650 people redundant yesterday he wasn't one of them but who knows how long he can last. They have closed 6 out of the 7 quarries that he worked at. He has also decided not to do the course yet at he doesn't finish in time to get to the college and doesn't want to be unflexible at work so they have no extra reason to put him on the next list of redundancies.
On the positive side: We know we are cover by the unemployment insurance for the mortgage so at least that would be paid, it would still be tough but that's a huge amount not to worry about.
I'm still putting aside money in the ISA and today transferred the Child benefit of £125.40 so current balance £195.43 and still have all those extras I mentioned to go in there. I also sold another book for £2.85 so will transfer that when it arrives.
No mystery shops planned so far this week, there are a few places I could go but they want the shops done at awkward times.
Feeling a bit icky today as have a stomach bug, waves of nausea every so often - having to be extra careful around the little ones.

Ev, stressful times indeed, but at least you know your financial position inside out and where every penny goes and what is upcoming, so you are in control. I feel for you both as I well recall the situation in the last (previous?) recession over some 3 years or longer of threat of job loss etc.Feeling a bit icky today as have a stomach bug, waves of nausea every so often - having to be extra careful around the little ones.

It's somewhat ironic isn't it; we have to be so careful around them, yet they are the ones incubating all those nasties!!! I went years without time off work for ill health until dd came along, then wow was I hit for six on occasions! Now she's older this has stopped but was the case until she was about 6yrs old.... best wishes.0 -
Morning all, think the medical term for how I'm feeling today is 'Ropey' - am managing to eat today but still feeling a bit queasy.
Hubbie told yesterday that the next round of redundancies is going to be at Christmas (lovely people eh?!), there doesn't seem to be any thought into who they decide is going except they are getting rid of senior technicians instead of the lower paid technicians which might be the saving grace for him. Yesterday though they told one of the really good seniors, who's been there for 10 years, that his job is going if another technician passes her occupational health check. This other technician has been with the company for 2 years and has been on long term sick for 18 months! Mad!
Anyway we'll take it as it comes.
Money wise:
* Funds recieved from Paypal so transfered £18.18 to ISA
* Survey site up to redemption limit so will request cheque, normally comes in at about £20 but takes a few weeks to come through.
* Another voucher arrived in the post so put in Xmas pot.

Good morning
Feeling much better today, actually have some energy to go out for a walk later.
Currently waiting in for grocery delivery as couldn't be bothered to go shopping, managed to get £10 off online so weekly shop costing £46.
My walk later will involve paying in two cheques received this morning, many pennies have arrived:
* £35 from mobile phone company
*£50 from survey site
*£27 from mystery shopping
So £112 transferred to ISA bringing current total to £325.61 :T
Tax credits also paid today so have transferred £65 to other savings account for windows.
I picked up a lovely mystery shop for Saturday, involves taking the family to a castle so should be fun!
Payday tomorrow so will pay mortgage and be a tiny bit closer to being MF, have just discovered that I can now check my account online and just waiting for a password. Not sure yet whether I can make payments online which would be very handy.
Have a good day everyone, Ev x0 -
