OK here we are then baby due in approx 4 weeks and hubbie now likely to be made redundant in 2 weeks, no chance of moving to another quarry as they are closing too.
Hubbie is obviously going to look for work straight away but who knows how long that will take.
We are going to have to sit down this evening to work out our finances and I'll have to suggested selling whatever little things we have lying about that we haven't bothered to ebay yet.
Our overdraft took a bit of a battering recently so have £15 until Tuesday when dh gets paid and need to buy food out of that - have just made rolls with dd but cupboard looking bare.
On a brighter note it's my graduation ceremony tomorrow and parents and dh coming along, will be taking a flask of coffee though as their refreshments are expensive!
So hard times ahead but we'll just work our way through it, will have to get extra teaching hours pretty quick in January and I'll get the qualified rate which is £20+ per hour so worth doing a few a week.

Really sorry to hear that, evab. Have been reading your thread for a while. Hope everything gets sorted really quickly.
Enjoy graduation tomorrow; I decided not to bother with mine. Good plan taking a flask! I hadn't really realised that you did the PGCE while pregnant - that is absolutely amazing. What an achievement. With that under your belt you'll be able to cope with any challenge.
Good luck with everything

Awww Eva that's carp. Will he get any redundancy money? Does he fancy being a Stay at home Dad? That's really tough...:o
...however, I hope you enjoy your graduation....
Fingers crossed for you and wishing you some good luck...:A

He'll only get a few weeks money we think as he's only been there 2 years since we moved up here. Unfortunately we definitely need two wages coming in, so no option to stay at home and my maternity pay is quite good.
Nervous about graduation, hate things like this! But very proud to be the first in my family to have this :-)

Have a lovely day:D:T0

Just caught up, sorry to hear of the redundancy. Its happening to lots of people at the moment, me included, it doesn't make it any easier hearing that but I know what your going through.
Congrats on the graduation you should be really proud of yourself, its a huge achievement.
Enjoy your last few weeks before baby arrives, especially spoiling DD.0 -
Hi everyone,
Thanks for you kind words, it's wierd how tired I've been worrying about everything just taking everything a day at a time. Hubbie should find out some more info on Monday and Tuesday but hopefully as we had the sense to taken out redundancy protection then that will cover most of the mortgage and will just have to watch every penny.
Graduation went really well, enjoyed it in the end I've added a link that will hopefully take you to the one and only photo you're likely to see of me as I hate my photo being taken! Photo is me (Eva - pronounced 'ever') and dh Phil. Note huge bump!!!!!
