It was meant to be 6 years 2006-2012 but it looks like the figures were wrong in the beginning and it will take another 6 years
I have one creditor who I have been paying since the start but the account has been changed all that time & I haven't heard anything.
Looks like I won't be studying full-time
EDIT: Forget that by adding £100 more a month to my DMP payments I can be debt free if not nearly in 4 years0 -
Evening all, another newby for us!

Welcome! Why not tell us a bit about yourself?
Good news here that I got a cheque back from the plumber so £135 better off but the £60 cheque for other plumber went out same day but every penny helps!! Trying to have a leanish month but not doing brilliantly! WIll live on as little as poss now until pay day on 20th! Doing much better than I would usually though - mainly due to grocery budget for which I am using cash & it makes a HUGE difference to what I soend as I think much more about what I bung in the trolly! Can def recc it as a strategy!
HUgs for you debrag but studying f/t while in debt isnt a great idea in my exp as the extra stress of money def affected my study as I had to work & study so didnt get the full experience. WOuld you be able to get sponsorship through work route - that way you get paid & get to study? Just a thought - not sure what you do? At least you've paid off more jonny - even if not planned it forces you to think of what yo spend more eh! Off to check out stuntys fan club on sealed pot & catch up with date news!Nerd no 109 Long haulers supporters DFW #1! Even in the darkest moments, love and hope are always possible.0 -
into my first ever monthly budget, but I've already noticed a change in my spending and behaviour. I've taken sarnies to work two days running and, having been used to making them in a rush in the mornings, I actually made tomorrows sarnies THIS EVENING :eek: - somebody call the doctor quick
:D
En route home, I popped into Lidl to see if I could get one of those low priced exercise balls, but I was too late. However I did buy two cans of kidney beans at 15p each, which I needed. I was tempted to get some chips but decided against it and had leftovers for dinner
I also tried to get my medication amount increased so I wouldn't have to pay more than twice during a 12 month period. I discovered that the tablets come in 56 and 84 tab format rather than the 28 tab I currently get  , so tomorrow I'm going to call my GP and ask/beg/demand to be given one of the higher ones. After all, I'll be on this medication for the foreseeable future; have been on it for more than 3 years so I can't see what the problem could be in helping me save a few pounds. We will see.

Hi all & welcome Kelly Jelly
Month going slowly but not to bad. I have been working on quidco, pigsback and just joined two opinion sites. Not spent any extra from the bank or cc but cash in purse going down a bit too quickly for my liking (nothing to do with 6.30 for pizza at lunch).
Youngest needs new shoes so there another £30 gone, will try and see if any sales still on but wont scrimp on kids feet. Went to take him today but its his second full day and he had a BIG paddy from tiredness. He even shouted at a teacher and was uncontrollable for most the day which is very unlike him.
I have worked out that I should have around £50 in the bank on pay day which is usually around the £100 o/d limit and OH will be able to give an extra £100 this month that I will put in savings a/c and use towards new cambelt for car next month :j .
Catch up with you all soon. Good luck for the rest of the month.:j0 -
Today I have managed to fix up some overtime over the next 3 months, I am really chuffed as it means I will earn around £900 extra before tax etc between now and March. I may be able to upgrade to the silver Olympic challenge now!
I have spotted an ad in my local paper for 1/2 price colour and highlights and a photo in the ad of a really nice hairstyle. I usually just get a dry trim every 3 months for £5 from mobile hairdresser but I am thinking of treating myself to this deal, think I have post-Xmas blues and a makeover would do me good but feel guilty about spending the money on myself. I find spending anything on myself instead of transferring it to pay of credit card sends me on a guilt trip.
Second and final LBM 01/01/11 Nearly got there but fell of wagon. HAVE to do it this time :mad:0 -

Great news about the overtime.
Tough decision on the haircut though. If its half price and your going to earn extra in the next few months then its sounds good but not if the guilt takes over the feel good factor from having it done. Personnally a little treat on myself once in a while is good especially if I have been good with any challenge I set myself. I am more likely to spend it on the kids though!:j0 -

Have been a lurker for a few months, but as I'm here for the long haul (as you can see) can I join your club ?
Thanks0 -
Welcome Tesco Tom - you're no 92! Why not tell us a bit about yourself!
Been a busy few days here with work and trying to catch up! Managed to get 0% BT to egg until August which is good as barclays turned down my kind offer of a 0% for 14 months! This way it will be an incentive to pay it off! Chin up to those who have the Ja blues! I have to get a new tyre tomorrow as have another flatDidnt notice until 6.30 so will drive very carefully to tyre place which thankfully is only a mile away plus, even better, they dont try to rip me off!!

money bees are conspiring against me early on in my long haul. Mortgage company added on more charges meaning balance not really going down. Bank added another charge meaning 2 weeks food budget gone.
DD needs decent shoes/boots for school where she wont fall over all the time in the ice and rip her trousers/jackets
need a hair cut
credit card interest charges swallowing up most of my payments. (def going to try clear this off asap)
However, have 2 job interviews next week
came £7 under budget this week on food
going to be a LONG few years.DFW 228 LONG H 68
