Great will power :money: not sure if I would heve controlled myself. Dont often shop for clothes but can be silly when I do. Reward yourself if you stick to Jan budget.
Hi Wendy, as a rule I hate shopping. With a passion. I had to get a long dress for a ball I attended and that was painful enough. Work clothes needed replacing as lots of them 'retired' at the same time  so I was down to one pair of trousers and lots of old t-shirts.
My friends tend to buy clothes 'on the spur of the moment' and I only buy them as I need them, usually when I have no money so have to put them on a card or use my overdraft. Having finally built in a small monthly clothing allowance, I'm expecting this to change this year.
I now have a weekly spending allowance, so if I don't spend it all by the end of the month I might treat myself to something or overpay on my credit card. Oh my, did I just say 'overpay'? I feel faint.....................The 365 Day 1p Challenge 2025. Member #420 -

I have done ok this weekend playing on the deposit free Bingo sites, just won £14.50 profit. Also signed up to another one gaining £25 greasypalm cashback and luckily won jackpot twice, clearing the minimum wager and making £85 profit which I have withdrawn before getting tempted again!
Will call it a day now before I get blacklisted for bagging bonuses! I hope everyone having a good weekend.Second and final LBM 01/01/11 Nearly got there but fell of wagon. HAVE to do it this time :mad:0 -
Have finally got round to updating my snowball! Have added a few little debts on that I have been paying but never got round to adding them on to my snowball. So my total debt has gone up about 1k but have still cleared over 4k since July! I have also upped the amount I am snowballing with so my debt free date is now Dec 2011 - still long haul but about 6 months knocked off so far! x x
Edit - forgot to mention - I have been putting £13.00 a day aside so that by the 31st Jan I will have enough to pay off my Comet card - 1 more down by the end of the month yeay! x xPay Debt by Xmas 16 - 0/12000

well done jonnyboy & penguin. Every little does help! Part of the journey for me is learning my triggers for spending (tiredness etc) and trying to plan for them. Didnt quite manage it yesterday as I got a tapestry frame that I didnt need but def wanted!! In my defense I did get it dirt cheap as got the shop one so quite a bit off!! Amazing how we justify things to ourselves though! Mine yesterday was that I got £108 back from petplan & £135 from pumber so was owed a little extra!! The rest will go off debt though!
What targets have people set for the year? Mine is to pay off £8000 at least by the end the the year & not spend as much as possible! My kettles melted so that's one thing I will have to get today...proof that cheap isnt necc good!Nerd no 109 Long haulers supporters DFW #1! Target this year is not to overspend for the first time, pay the loan, dont add to any CC or the O/D (The CC is cleared monthly and the O/D is £100 main debt is loan). If I can build up some savings I will be very happy.:j0
