Morning debt busters! As anticipated a few newbies with the new year Christmas hangover! Welcome all! Ye olde light bulb moments (LBM's!) take a while to get over so hugs for us all entering a new year!
So I start 2008 feeling positive about the year ahead. Last year didnt get as far as I would like debtbusting but thats because I did a diet that cost thousands and had to buy loads of new clothes! Plus had expensive vet bill (600) & boiler bill (600) so didnt do too badly but want to get as much of my CC's paid off as possible this year.
Signed up for the grocery challenge in Jan & also set up the pay off 8000 in a year challenge - the 20,000 was way too much for me as want to pay loads of without eating value beans IYKWIM! There was no way I could live of 4000 in a year - my bills are more than that & one must eat - even if trying to loose some ibs!
Today will be spent taking the tree down, cleaning & getting the house back into some kind of normality/order! Happy new year all, hope its a fab one!!

Good news looks like £119 from Quidco on the way bad news £40 charges been taken. I know £12 is an "account upgarde" charge I need to cancel but the £28 I was told would be cancelled. More annoying I cant deal with it until tomorrow.

Heres hoping I gave the right info to quidco and I can get the £28 back or I have ...£26 in bank after bills, £365 on cc (paid off each month and must cover work expenses and food shopping ( going to try and live on the cupboards and freezer for as long as possible this month got loads of food in) and £70 in purse for the month.... It doesnt sound bad but I can easily overspend without thinking. I really want some excess this month to put in the Xmas saving club or maybe get the darn cam belt done before we lose the car.

update OH must have given me extra I have £50 more in my purse!! Just off to give him a kiss.

  • Hi everyone. I have £104 coming from Quidco so thats grand. It will be paid off of Sony card ASAP. I am soooooo happy it is 2008 as 2007 was sh*t. We are starting the year healthy and slightly wealthier than last year. At least I am in control of my money now and not vice versa. Have a nice day all. I am off into my mums for traditional steak pie, tatties and neeps( turnip) DELISH. Then going to have a quick visit to an aunts then I will come home and chill. xx
5 Year plan. April 2020 to June 2025- CC and mortgage free by time I'm 60
    Currently CC £23,674.36 /£14,895.41/£14315.42
    Mortgage £28,214.65/ £26,254.71/ £25,746.43
    By end 2020 I want CC at £ 19,000.00.
By end 2021 I want CC at £10,000.00
  • Sorry sweetie I don't know that that is. Come on long haulers, help out here!!!!!! Inquiring minds need to know.

Well Happy New Year everyone, hope your evening went well. Mine was sober as I was designated driver but the party host did make lots of fruit cocktails for me!

I eventually got home about 2am then Mr Step snored til 4am...........til I kicked him out to the settee! Finally fell asleep about 5am and woke up at 12. Not what I planned for the 1st Jan but never mind.

We have hoovered through and cleaned up ready for me back to work tomorrow, bleurgh.

Enjoy the rest of your day!!

    1 step xx
