@recurrent-ostrich - I like how your signature shows the % of debt paid off. Do you have a bit on a spreadsheet or a calculator tool that works this out or do you just work it out with your own calculator? I like the idea of seeing the % growing :)

Do it with a calculator. So if your debt is, say, £10,150 and you've paid off £345, you put 345 divided by 10150 and it comes out with 0.03399 etc. That means you've paid off 3.3% (Well, actually 3.399% but I just use the first digit after the decimal point.)

If your debt is £5200 and you've paid off £2350, you put 2350 divided by 5200 and you get 0.45192 etc. That means you've paid off 45.1%.

    Does that make sense?

Welcome! We have similar levels of debt, and will be here for about 4 years, as long as no unexpected extra things come out of the blue to bite us on the bum!

Thanks Recurrent Ostrich, our debt free day according to the snowball calculator is in 2014 but also dependent on no surprises!!

Welcome newbies! Good to have you with us!
the vinternet he sounds lovely and I think it has to be decision for both of you...hard for us to say as we dont know you but as others said a generous offer...
Well its been a week of thought in ISOM land...have made a difficult decision to have my stomach stapled which is going to cost and arm, leg and torso! It means that I will be in debt longer but to me will be worth it as my quality of life is affected so much by my weight that its time to take control, having tried all else I can think of...needless to say wont be moving any time soon but not necc a bad thing!
