I can recommend PayPlan, they have been running my DMP since it started 6 years ago.

Never had a problem with them in the whole of that time.
Hi Daisy. Selling my home was an option I considered too but then chose the DMP route instead as I decided my home was more beneficial to me than my credit rating. It would have cost me more the rent, approx £600 per mont in my locale, than my mortgage £530 per month. Would this option be suited to you perhaps? It's not ideal of course but for me it was sell my home (that's assuming I could sell of course), and IVA (too much equity in my home apparently), the DMP (120 a month for the next zillion years) or carry on with head in sand until ending up in court.

Have a think about it anyway, if you have not already, do a little reading on here and maybe ring Payplan or CCCS.

    good luck

Thanks antonic and standingtall. I really need to think about this one. My mortgage is very high but my fixed rate ends in March so it may come down after that. I have the option of taking a payment holiday from the mortgage for up to 3 months so I'm thinking of doing that and clearing a cc with the extra funds. Has anyone got any experience of payment holidays? I'll also look into Payplan and a dmp, this may be my way forward. Thanks for your help x

  • Having a downer this week, I've had a stinking cold and we've had a couple of unexpected expenses that have knocked our budget out -first month on budget, was going really well, but no emergency fund. They weren't huge amounts (£35 for emergency vet visit and £50 for unexpected fuel as weather meant hubby had to take car to work this week), but have meant our OD is maxxed out now, and I was hoping to knock £100 off it this month. :(

Poor you Ostrich. Debt-busting definitely has its ups and downs...it is really hard at times. The main thing is to keep at it. Is there anything you could Ebay to help with the unexpected costs? Possibly unwanted gifts after xmas? :D
  • mushy pea the container was one that they used for chucking cardboard boxes in from what! and I was going to buy a pack of boxes at safestore so saved myself about 50!!
Ms Daisy thats your number, use away!
Re the extra money coming out I know what you mean...my account is hemmoraging at the moment as had to pay for insulation, work to be done on the house, cattery fee, money for Italy...thankfully best mate confirms that she will be lighting the fire and we'll not venture far which is good for exhaustion levels and pocket! Really looking forward to just chilling out...finished work today until 3rd Jan which is bliss as my job is stressful and busy so will be good to have a complete break from it; have had to miss Christmas meal tonight as feeling very sick and suspect I have mums lurgy...:(

  • Been AWOL for a while so thought I'd pop in and say hi.
We have just been treading water for the last 6 months so very much looking forward to getting those debts reducing at a better rate.
I think I need to have a look at some specific challenges for 2012 as these tend to get my debtbusting juices pumping!
Est. debt free day April 2016 (ish) Debt at June 2010 £34,247.13
Debt at Dec 2011 £27,499.09 (19.7% paid off)

    Hey there!

I was AWOL for about 18 months, coming back was a great decision, even if I do say so myself! My debts went back up again during my absence  but now they are on the way down again. Coming here is great, especially for the challenges and the camaraderie! So welcome back! :)
  • I need this place to stay motivated. We aren't too bad at adding to the debt when we are AWOL but we don't really get anywhere with paying it off.
I love the feeling of excitedly waiting for credit card bills so we can update our position! What a pair of losers!
