Hi Long haulers, time for my annual update. We have been doing quite well but didn't manage to hit the target of 16k. Still there's always next year.
Our debt total now stands at £16449:j Which is still a considerable amount but not as scary as it has been. Snowball says dfd is 2012. I would like to be credit card free by Dec 2011 and have the overdrafts gone which aren't included in the above figure but are slowly being paid back.

Good on ya lucille! Main thing is that the debt is going down! Mine is slow but going...realised over time that if I go all out that I rebel against myself so a slow steady with some treats is better for me...problem is that I tend to slip into too many treats and then have to reign back...will get there in the end but know I will always struggle with spending
How are people doing in the run up to Christmas? My christmas do was cancelled yesterday so saved about 50 on spending money and the outfit can go back as never worn!Nerd no 109 Long haulers supporters DFW #1! Even in the darkest moments, love and hope are always possible.0 -
Well, its time to say hello again on here after not posting for a long time, never forgot about you all as I'm still on the long haul!
Debts are very slowly going down after living quite frugally this year. Plan for next year is to pay off at least 1 CC and attempt to overpay on the mortgage.
I've worked out a repayment plan for the CCs and its all systems go in the new year to finally make a start
I haven't over spent on clothes and have mostly reigned in my skincare spending, have been cooking from scratch and preserving and selling some preserves this year and a couple of christmas cakes
Looking forward to 2011 and start to throw these particulary monkeys off my back - once these start going down I will feel like the debt free life really is on its way. It looks like it will take 4 yrs at this point to pay them off so I will be on the long haul journeyfinal unsecured debt to repay currently £8333Proud to be Dealing With my DebtDFW Nerd 1154 Long Haul 1550 -
Morning fedup and skin and in search of me, good on the no spend and returned dress although xmas do would be nice it seems it can sometimes cost so much to be social, im pleased that i have averaged out the price of my dress to 28.33 for 3 times wearing it lol its not the big spends that kill us its the non utilisation
.... il be glad for a new year new start we are aiming for an overpay of 600 every month from january hope we can pull it off its been quiet on the long haul front hope it picks up for the new year big hugs everyone xx

Hello,
Sorry - too many late nights/sleepless nights/early starts - just not enough time to post these days. The new little one is finding his lungs and unfortunately like everyone else in the house (except me) fights his sleep like nothing else. I'm back at work now after a glorious month off that went far too fast. Been a better month though - no spending as we barely left the house (too cold!!!) and a Xmas bonus of £300 from work which is ALL going on debts. I now have nearly £1000 toward paying off my car loan (currently £2000) and I hope to have that paid off by the spring if possible (saving £100 a month!). Very frugal xmas this year, but its probably the first in as many years so its about time! I'm hoping 2011 will see a good debt-busting year. Just need to raise another £4000 to pay off two credit cards freeing up another £100 a month - heres hoping it is possible.
In the meantime, if I don't get a chance, have a lovely xmas everyone and a good new year - see you on the other side for another year at debtbusting - trying not to let that depress me!!

Hi Everyone
End of 2010 is approaching, Ive been looking at what we have paid off and what left to pay. We were doing well on target until our hoilday in August since then it been spending more borowing money from one month to the next so never catching up. Our aim was to pay off at least £9, 210 - £10,000 we didn't make it. We only paid off £4449, but we do have £3,500 in savings. On the postive side the amount of debt has got down and not increased, under £50K now. This time next year I would love to be under £40K, but would be have happy under £42,500. 2011 will aim for £7,500 less.
Happy Christmas and a very happy new year to everyone.Pay £7,500 in 2011 paid £29,325 No 43 OP £21,825
