Hi chaps.
I've been going great guns in my self inflicted challenge this week - I ahve put myself on a no spend week. Was planning just Monday to Friday, but in fact as it turns out I didnt spend anything at the weekend so now on official day 5! Yay me! That said, I have been working all the hours god sends so that has helped as not been going out for drinks etc after work, and have planned for lunches etc. But still, credit where it's due - and I am due some credit as normally I'd be looking at £10+ per day over priced and still rank city sandwich shop lunches, going out for dinner, stupid price cocktails etc. and what's more, I dont miss it...
I felt a bit low last week, but now proud of myself so feel million times better!0 -
Well done EB69 - no-one ever said it was easy but you can do it. Stay positive and every pound paid off is a pound less to pay.........hmmm.....kind of obvious that one....should have thought about that a bit better!
Well done:)Debt Sept 2007 (1st LBM) - £63,000 :embarasseStarted DMP July 2012 (2nd LBM) - £34,000DFD (currently) - 12 years!"Failure is not falling down, but refusing to get up."0 -
hiya , am stuck upstairs as baby is not wanting to sleep!
Lloyds have stopped interest on my CC and my Dh but have issued me with 2 sols letters on the same day and one for DH wanting full payment or they will take further action.. I am hoping these are just to scare us! They have told teh CCCS that they can not accept the DMP on my CC as i have spent on it ummm i think not!! On the Loan they accepted it and kept the payment date as the 1st even though CCCS told them they would get their payments on the 25th so they will now be starting collection proceedings! gah! they are a nightmare..
barclaycard and next have both accepted the dmp so it is nice to see those balances coming down. GE Home lending which is my ex husbands deby bit he has been out of work for FOUR years seem to be quiet but am sure they will hit me with a default soon!
Other than lloyds we had a nightmare trip to spain the kids were so unsettled crying, not eating or sleeping that we were sooo glad to be home just wish that we had not wasted £700!!! would have been cheaper to pay for mum to come over here but you live and learn.
OH has got christmas off to which is nice as he does shifts with BAA so was due to be working both days... So all set for "family" Christmas time. We are only buying for the kids so saved lots of money.
Somehow need to find a grand to pay sols who are working on my dads will as he died in spain with a english will that the royal mail lost ( long story)
Anyway i have rambled enough!
Hopefully Izzy will sleep through tonight so i get a nice sleep!!!DFW LHS - 246

Hi all
Thought I'd check in and see what's happening...
I've not had a good day today and just got tempted to buy a really cute jumper to cheer myself up. Well to be fair that's not the whole story as I have tickets for the opera tonight (dont panic - they were only a tenner!) but I didnt remember to bring the change of clothes to work today and I need to change. I am annoyed with myself. but am justifying it (badly) by saying it is something I can dress up or down so is very versatile, and it wasn't expensive. However, it doesnt change the fact that the purchase was only necessary due to (a) disorganisation on my part and (b) still feeling the need to shop to feel better.
When I got back to the office I contemplated turning round and going straight back to return it, but I really do need something to wear this evening and cancelling is not an option as tickets paid for and friend wont want to go on her own. So bit stuck now. But lesson learned - pack at night before bed!!!0 -
Ahh enjoy the opera and dont feel bad a bout a little spend just learn better next time, hope more long haulers come out soon xxI AM A MONEY MAGNET, THEY ARE MAKING MORE MONEY FOR ME AS WE SPEAK:pMIKES MOB, DFW NERD 1071, DFW LHS 132!MIRACLES HAPPEN I'VE SEEN IT WITH MY OWN EYES. can I join please? I thought mine and OH debt free date was gonna be like 9 years + but we have decided to go for a dmp with CCCS which is just getting sorted out now. According to their debt remedy we should be debt free in 5 years and 7 months! still long enough I guess.
Anyway, I seriously need a good kick up the backside for 3 reasons:-
1) I have got loads of DD's clothes to sell, some are like brand new and some she has only ever worn once. I started to sell on ebay, got low and gave up after like 2 months as having some personal issues.
2) I am pants at meal planning/food shopping, get down, lazy and end up going to the shops like everyday
3) Have too many takeaways for my liking:eek:
So I need some help, motivation and I would like to make some friends in the process!!!! OH is pants at saving and spends as quick as we get it, so I always feel like im taking two steps forward and three back, if you see what I mean?
anyways, hope im welcome to join in!!!
