hehe enjoy the sleep..
Climbing hello love, ahh well keep chasing it up and hopefully you will move when you are able, is it an old building sometimes old building that have been pointed with cement ontop of black lime effect the breathing of teh wall thus leading to damp we had this problem and its because in old houses we dont have the wall gap or someything so the cembet draws in the water and doesnt let it back out does that make sense ? xxxI AM A MONEY MAGNET, THEY ARE MAKING MORE MONEY FOR ME AS WE SPEAK:pMIKES MOB, DFW NERD 1071, DFW LHS 132!MIRACLES HAPPEN I'VE SEEN IT WITH MY OWN EYES. Hello,
Sorry I've not been on for a while. Thank you for your message HPGDF - yes I'm fine, and no, the baby hasn't arrived yet! 22 November is our due date. Abigail is now fully mobile and is on a daily mission to empty every drawer and cupboard.
Its been a very busy few months and I simply haven't been able to get to the forum to let you know whats been going on. I had a mega eBay fest and have raised £2000, which came straight off my HSBC card (23.9% APR - grrrr) and it is now closed. I have made too many mistakes in the past where I haven't closed cards after paying them off, so I was determined not to make the same mistake again. Only 4 credit cards and one loan remaining! I sold a lot of my childhood toys, which was hard, but I had focus on the big picture and work toward eliminating my debt.
I also managed to raise an extra £870 through Payment Protection Insurance rebate. I had absolutely no expectation of being successful, but I wrote to Tesco and despite them actually REJECTING my request for a rebate, "as an act of goodwill" they gave me a cheque for £870 to close the case! I would never have got more than that even if I had pursued it further, so I took it and ran! That came off my Capital One card.
I had a bad time back in July though when I nearly lost my job. Initially we were told that to cut costs we would lose our weekend working. That was bad enough. but then we were told that wasn't enough and redundacnies would have to be made. We had a nightmare of a month, but I was really really lucky and was able to find another job in another unit. There were only a small number of posts and I had to go head to head with my work colleagues, which you can imagine did not make fora great atmosphere, but I was lucky and I got one of the jobs. Its horrible what we have to do to keep our heads above water, but its made me appreciate what I've got sooooo much more now.
So, with all that going on, running ebay like a part-time business and running around after a 14 month old, its been a bit hectic and left me little time for anything else! I have a new goal, which is to raise at least £3000 to pay off another card by August 2011 - which is when my wife's maternity pay ends and the only money coming in will be mine! Aarrrghhh!
Anyway, enough of me. How is everyone else? Hello to everyone new and hello to all my old friends. I will try and make a more concerted effort to 'be around' in future! Seeing as I've emptied my loft I'm now at a bit of a loose end again..... although I'm enjoying it while I can. Sleepless nights here we go again!Debt Sept 2007 (1st LBM) - £63,000 :embarasseStarted DMP July 2012 (2nd LBM) - £34,000DFD (currently) - 12 years!"Failure is not falling down, but refusing to get up."0 -

Hi everyone!
Talisker - well done on raising so much money and clearing a credit card! :T Good luck with the new baby!
Happy - I can totally relate to having an OH who isn't good with finances. I feel like his bloody mother sometimes!!! lol
Soma - Hope you have a lovely birthday! Enjoy your party!
clareb2010 - Do i know you??? I have a feeling i might! Could be completley wrong but i recently gave DMP advice (via FB) to a Clare B i know who has 2 girls.
Things are pretty good here, apart from the fact that me and my little boy both have stinking colds.
The good news is that my little boy started Nursery School last week and LOVED it!I'm so pleased. He has done 2 sessions now and i just really hope it continues to go well.
Finances are ticking along ok at the moment. Hubby got a really good bonus at work last month and we decided to be naughty and get a new sofa instead of giving the money to our DMP. (sshhhh!)
But to be fair our sofa was literally falling to bits and we have needed a new one for ages. We got a really good deal on Tesco Direct and got a big leather sofa which should have been £699 for just £324!! It was reduced to £524, then we doubled up our £70 of clubacard vouchers to get £140 off and then we used a voucher code to get £60 of clubcard vouchers back! Fab huh?!
We have also managed to get our little boy his 'big boy bed' thanks to my parents and my ILs helping us out. Again, i found a really good deal online!
I am looking forward to the first weekend of November as i am off for an overnight Spa break with my Mum and my Sister. My Mum is treating us with the money she got from an unexpected retirement payout! :j
Can't wait! We get dinner included and can use all of the spa facilities (pool, sauna, steam room, etc) and I'm booked in for a facial, massage, manicure and eyelash/eyebrow tint.
Hope everyone is doing ok. Have we all started our xmas shopping yet? I always start in September and keep a very close eye on the grabbit boards for good bargains!I'm FINALLY debt free! babyplum - you sure do... Hope you are getting over your colds!
We are doing ok.. First month on DMP and so far one of our Lloyds debts have come back saying they will not accept as our account is in credit which is bizarre as no-one has been paid from cccs yet. GE have sent me two letters in one day adding charges and asking for payment, they should have heard from cccs by now.. anyway as Freya has just woken up i shall leave you all for now.
Hope you are all having nice weekends xxDFW LHS - 246
