  • :) Why not stick to the 150 you can afford and start using the jar system set it up split a £10 in it and start building a better feeling towards money i use the jar system now and it does work plus it makes me feel better about finances, utilise the secret for positivity ..... dont dwell on the dfd been 2015 dwell on that positive feeling its less than 5 years away and whos to say things wont have changed? everyday we are changing and making a difference to our dfd so be confident and dont use words like cant afford course you can afford if you wanted you would save for it and make it happen :) im all about the secret and positive thoughts and good thinking and it makes you feel better... plus i love memory girls thread and little challenges they really help get the flow of things :) big hugs for you xxx

  • Hello,

Back from the holiday - had a GREAT time! We actually didn't spend that much over and above the cost of the holiday which I'm still quite shocked about. Abigail had the best time and JUST DIDN'T STOP! It wasn't what you would call a relaxing holiday, but it would be naive thinking I could relax with a 15 month old who has found her running legs and my OH who is 8 months pregnant! We went to North Wales, which I was pleasantly surprised at - very beautiful scenery and loads to do, even for little ones. We got a bit of rain but it didn't spoil it at all. I forget how many nice places there are in the UK and in the past I would have gone abroad, but I'm hoping for the next few years we can go to other places in the UK we haven't been before.

babyplum - I know your DFD can seem an awful burden. If it is any consolation, my DFD is the same as yours. I deal with it the only way I can - I don't think about it. Thats not to mean I stick my head in the sand, I simply think about tomorrow, next week and next month.... from my experience in three years of debt busting you never know what is round the corner. Its taken a long time to train myself to think like that but I've found that you situation this year can sometimes be vastly different to what happens a year later. Trust me - don't let it get on top of you. I've wasted too many days and nights worrying that I will never be free of debt. We will - one day, and in the meantime take it one day, week and month at a time. You can do, stay positive - and we're all here when you need to let off some steam!

clareb - thanks for the christmas heads up....completely forgot about it! I forewarned the family last Christmas that we can't spend much. I suggested to my brother and sister (who also have young families) that we don't get each other presents, we only buy for the kids. That seemed to go down well - after all, I'm trying to de-clutter the house, I don't need more 'things'....although a Nintendo Wii would be nice....I can dream.....

I'm hoping for a quieter Christmas this year....although with a newborn in the house that will be unlikely! Not much 'Silent Night' i'm guessing! We went to Aberdeen last year, but it would be too much this year with two little ones to drive all that way. Takes 10 hours on average....not a fun ten hours believe me!

Anyway - back to ebay today. Hope everyone is well.

    Stay positive everyone :)
