Chin up scooby - thanks for the PMs, keep them coming!
Hello everyone else out there. Sold a book on Amazon yesterday for £10. I put it up there about 3 months ago and forgot about it completely until I got an email last night saying it was sold. I had to frantically search the loft for it and was convinced I had thrown it away by accident, but thankfully not! So, now I have had a success with that book I'm going to raid the loft again and see what else I have got for Amazon. You don't seem to get much for books for ebay - if you're lucky only a couple of quid - but it seems as if you don't mind waiting a few months, someone will pay your asking price on Amazon. Nice one!
What is it you say happy - 'money comes often and easily'.... will start saying that more!

Welcome! Tell us a bit about yourself so we can get to know you!
Welcome back scooby; know what you mean about things being bleak sometimes. Ive had a bad couple of months and when I get back from holiday (hopefully cheap as no hotel etc) will pull finger out. We (mum and I) are doing a storecup challenge as have so many odds and ends in the cupboards that need eating! hang in there - we'll get there in the end! I also want to check the interest rates etc on my cards and check whether I can get better rates on some. Ive not applied for any new ones in a while so may be able to get some better rates!! We shall see!Nerd no 109 Long haulers supporters DFW #1! Even in the darkest moments, love and hope are always possible.0 -
Thanks for the welcome back scooby and talisker, I've been MIA from the PAD thread for a while too.
Welcome annibee, congrats on the baby, and I'm going to be here for a while too.
Good luck on getting some lower card rates ISOM, I'd love to try as most of mine are pushing 30% but I think I've still got too much debt, so will have to wait a while."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Hi everyone
Have just joined everyone on the long journey and still in that stage where we are waiting to hear from everyone. Token payments have been sent to all our creditors and the CCCS have written to them all so just waiting to see how they will react. We wrote to them all last month with a token payment and so far the only phone calls we have had are from MBNA, three of which have been at my work place. Thanks to reading all the messages here, I just advised that I couldn't give my security details as I work in a small open plan office. We have had so many letters from MBNA it's quite obvious that they have several departments which just don't link into one another.
A bit concerned that my token payments for our overdraft with the Halifax haven't been cashed yet. I see from the messages here that a few people have had problems with creditors saying they have not received stuff - if I don't hear in the next couple of days I will write again by registered post.
Just one thing though, I'm still really worried about all of this and being on a DMP, especially when I read some of the horror stories people have had to deal with, DCAs and being slammed with CCJs, has anyone every gone the distance (ours will be around a 7 year hike) and had it go smoothly?
Sorry it's a bit long winded.0 -
Hello,
ooo about about myself. Im 23 Have one small child and my bump is due at the end of march
Had no debt until I met my lovely man (whom is still lovely nontheless) Personally i had never had credit, overdrafts, cc, store cards nothing. Moved in with oh and realised he never seemed to have money asked why. he said paying off some debts accumalated in uni. he let his mum have control of all though and so didnt know how much he owed. We decided to buy house so i asked him to find out how much he owed it wasnt pretty  a lot of it was interest. His mum was paying them on time but hadnt looked at how much interest was being applied so ended up paying less than the interest so everything got really dark for a bit. Told him he had to take control (well we both did) and we bought our house this year.It was hard as we had to learn about everything quickly. Its been a bit of a rollercoaster ride but i finally seemed to have everytihng on track then i found out i was pregnant :rotfl:
I wont bore you anymore but basically its gonna take a looooong time to be debt free but im finding the challenges on this site very usefull!! Making more money now out of little things than ever before.....oh and won 2 quid on lottery last night :T
Thank you all for lovely welcome. Ill try and post soon its just as i am at work full time and then doing mummy duties all evening i dont get much time :rotfl:

Hello annibee,
Congrats on the bump and welcome to the long haulers. Men eh?! .... I don't know.... if I wasn't one myself I'd be....well, I guess I'd be a woman....hmmm, didn't quite think that one through....
Got the £180 today for the old buggy. I got it in cash and I have locked it away in a box, in a freezer, buried 4 feet underground with killer worms surrounding it.... although I never thought about how I would get it into the bank. At least I can't spend it!Debt Sept 2007 (1st LBM) - £63,000 :embarasseStarted DMP July 2012 (2nd LBM) - £34,000DFD (currently) - 12 years!"Failure is not falling down, but refusing to get up."0 -
Could do with a few killer worms in my purse to be honest!! :rotfl:I, not events, have the power to make me happy or unhappy today. I can choose which it shall be. Yesterday is dead, tomorrow hasn't arrived yet. I have just one day, today, and I'm going to be happy in it.
