Welcome - assumed you wanted a number! Re your DMP are you doing it with one with one of the non profit co's? That seems to be where people get into trouble - if they go with the fee paying ones who are basically making money out of you while the others are just helping you out of youre predicament! HTH?
Pleased Im not the only one who has to still lock money up. Basic fact is I love shopping and prob always will lol!

  • Just had a lovely weekend with my daughter - we did loads of things that didn't cost any money (except the petrol to get us there) and really don't want to go back to work tomorrow. Unfortunately she must have had a good day too as its now two hours past her bedtime and she just will not give in to her sleep! Bless her. I think I'll be in bed and asleep before her!

    Hi everyone

Haven't been around for a while - I joined in July I think. CCCS plan is going well and we have now made three payments. We can see the debt going down - slowly - on some of the debts but others like the stupid hellifix are going up at about £150 a month!!! Not really worried because they will never see that money as we will be hounding them to take it off as we are in financial hardship. The kick of it is we have a credit card with them for a few thousand and they have stopped the charges - the charges are going on a very small amount of an OD we had with them!!! Others like Next are being ridiculous despite the fact that we are paying them more than they suggest we pay them - they are not taking the amounts off their statements, charging us interest because we are not doing it 'their way' and sending letters from TWO different depts!!!

On the up-side (or slightly down too) we are down to one car as we can't afford to get DH's fixed so we are selling it for as much as we can get and this means we are down one tax and insurance to that is the up side. The down-side is that we only have one car and I have to either do a lot more miles and up early to take him to work so we can go out (I home educate our daughter so need to get about) or I'm stuck in the house. So some of the last two months have been quite depressing but have had some support from a very few close friends and it just takes more time and planning to get where and what we want. We are keeping up with paying everything and we haven't been down to less than £50 in the bank at any time so that is a first - and for almost four months now so that is good. DH goes out occasionally for the odd meal with colleagues but he doesn't spend much - I have been out twice and spent NOTHING! I used Tesco clubcard vouchers to go out for a meal with a friend and went Dog racing (never been to anything like that before or even ever bet anything!) on a free ticket which included free pint, pie and peas. I bet £1 on each of the 12 races and won £17! So I have done VERY well LOL

After the near failure of the first (and possibly last) car boot sale where we raised £17 after expenses - we have finally started putting things in the paper and trying ebay out and will continue until stuff is sold from now on. It has taken time to get around to it as my day is full of education/usual household things and dealing with unusual behaviours some things go very slow around here. We have life insurance to reduce and then when we get our next pay-back from the Gas and Electric we will see if we can change to a cheaper one. I have started writing down the usage on the first of every month so I can see what we use too.

I think that's it for now. Going to check-out the competition board!
