Ahhhhh the end of the week (I work shifts....keep up) - managed to get a last minute Haven break in North Wales for £73. Decided to go for it - Abi deserves a holiday and my poor OH really needs a break - too much bump to carry round. Have decided that with my big debt bust lately I deserve a little break from it all - besides, its hardly the ritz! Hopefully the weather holds. Checking in tomorrow and returning on Friday. Trying not to feel guilty about it - after all we didn't have a holiday this year and I don't think £73 for four days is bad....
Have a lovely week everyone I will catch up with you all when I get back! Then its back to eBay again....will be selling my socks soon. Not sure I'd get much though. MAybe if I sold myself on eBay - (not in that way....steady!)....I could donate myself to medical science. I'm sure I'm worth a few quid!Debt Sept 2007 (1st LBM) - £63,000 :embarasseStarted DMP July 2012 (2nd LBM) - £34,000DFD (currently) - 12 years!"Failure is not falling down, but refusing to get up."0 -

morning
enjoy your holiday Talisker - sounds like an absolute bargain
not much to report from me0 -
Hi all.
Talisker - fab news about the holiday! Enjoy it! We all need a break sometimes.
Struggling to get to the end of the month here! Our big sofa purchase and first whack of nursery fees left us a little bit short but we are nearly there as hubby gets paid on the 24th this month.
Good news is that hubby should be getting a good bonus this month AND next month. So i am going to look into upping our CCCS payment for the next couple of months. Another one of our creditors on our DMP is now paid off so we now have 9 creditors instead of our original 11(!!!) Our next lowest one is at £40 now too so that will we paid off very soon. So we will soon have 8, which although still sounds a lot is only 4 each for me and hubby. Much more manageable i think. Actually, i need to update my signature too.
I am feeling quite low about how long it is taking us to pay it off and HATE thinking about our DFD as it seems such a long way off. I have pretty much given up on the idea of ever owning our own house now.We are quite a low income household and i don't see that changing anytime soon. My hubby is a lovely, lovely bloke and a great father so i shouldn't complaint too much but he has zero ambition and no matter how many times i try to talk to him about furthering his career and trying to bring in more money nothing ever changes. He is very much a 'stick your head in the sand' kinda bloke and leaves me to do ALL the worrying and sorting out of finances. The only time he ever does anything towards our DMP is when he needs to speak to one of his creditors and they won't speak to me. But even then i have to leave very clear instructions, by that time i might as well have done it myself! *sigh*
-Moan over!-
Hope everyone is well.I'm FINALLY debt free! DFW Long Hauler #227LBM - Jan 2006  March 2006 -£26,725  Apr 2015 - £0!!! :jBaby boy born 1/8/08 Baby girl born 28/6/120 -
AH baby plum chin up, you have 11k to pay back and im sure you can buy your own home when the time is right so keep focused sit down and discuss with dear hubby tell him you want more from life and go out and do it
have some faith dont worry about the numbers and dates focus on the end result who knows you may get an unexpected income of just that amount keep posting and keep positive
xx

my hubbie is the same babyplum and always leaves it to me to deal with the finances unless they won't speak to me which is a huge burden sometimes. Have to say that since going on the dmp he is looking at the balance and knows what is coming out of the account so maybe he has had his lightbulb moment!..
Weather is nice here today , we had a nice weekend with my aunt in gloucester.. looking forward to seeing my mum in november now as nt seen her since last april and then christmas will be here eekkkkkDFW LHS - 246

Thanks Happy!
I do try to keep positive but have the odd day like today where i just feel like it will never end!
I know 11k doesn't seem like a huge amount to pay back but when we can really only pay off £150 a month it feels massive. I am going to review our finances again soon and see if there is anyway we can cut back in other areas and increase our payment to £200 a month. This would cut down our DFD to 2015. Its difficult as hubby wages are about 50% commission and we never know how much he is going to get paid. Sometimes we have a bit of extra money and then some months we really struggle.
I have tried to discuss things many, many times with hubby and he makes promises that things will change and that he will look into progressing but nothing ever changes and 2 days later he has forgotten all about it (or pressumed i have just finished having a moan about it).
I am earning the most i possibly can at the moment (with my qualifications and experience) and am in quite a stressful job which, if i am truthful, i would rather not being doing right now. I want to focus on being a Mum and even think about having a another child but thats a luxury i can't afford.I'm FINALLY debt free!
